ugh...so lemme get this straight
people are saying their Z isnt getting very dirty noticeble by a clean clay bar. My Z wont travel by rails prolly (S.D.)
For this brand new car, there is no *pressing* need initially to clay OR ABC. There is no [u]need[/n] to polish either. Merely using blackfire for instance is a good start for the first year, reapplying when needed and using a quik detail for sprucing up. Does this sound good?

Those were my thoughts. However, I went the whole route to see what wuould happen. Clay bar just a small improvement didn't seem to do much. Polish just another small improvement. Blackfire larger improvement. Second coat of Blackfire noticealbe improvement. Third coat of Blackfire small improvement.
The net result of the small improvements was very noticealbe, especailly when my wife came out and saw the final results. To me, since I was working on it all the time at first it didn't seem to have improved in shine or smoothness very much. But when I took a break and came back I improvements were stunning.
BTW I was concerned about orange peel and this process seems to make it much less noticable (almost gone except under some lighting conditions). Also the second and third coats of Blackfire went on and off very easily.
Bottom line is that I would do it again even though waxing a car is not one of those things that I like to do. THe results are worth it.

ABC'ing my new Z really, and I mine radically, brought out the clean sparkly shine, that regular washing did not. It also revealed the smallest problem with the paint (i.e. many tiny spots of gray paint. these occurred at the factory, or before the paper was applied). Clay bar used to perfect the finish. Finish was smoother than glass, and made sealing the paint with Zaino much easier.
