Question Before getting Zaino....

Before getting Zaino....

1. I just wax my Z last week...is this going to hurt anything?

2. I'm in a tight budget as I have to pay for my school and for this car as well, so I want to know what are the least amount of basic products need to Zaino my Z?

3. Reffering to question #2 in what order do I apply it them?

And last....

4. how long to wait between putting layers??

Thanks a lot.

If you want to go with Zaino, you will be removing that "wax" you put on with Dawn. "Bricks" and Zaino are awesome! If you are on a "budget" could skip claying and if you don't have "swirls" you could pass on using Z5. I would get Z7, Z6, Z2 and ZFX. The ZFX works with the Z2 to reduce the wait time. Visit: www.zainobros.com and do some reading on these products and visit "Tips & Tricks" to see if you might want to reduce or add to these products.

Believe it or not, the attached photo is a "Brickyard" with 51 layers.

51 layers? Did I read that right?

Is that even possible?

Did you do all that in one day?

51 layers is correct! Yes, it is possible! Doc Bonz, assuming his "Brick" has come out from under the covers, is probably in the high 50s or low 60s. That is layers, not temp.

The number of layers is not important. Get it on your car and take pride in your Zaino shine! Didn't start using Zaino initially.
Made the switch on 8/15/2003. How many days is that?

Another opinion; I disagree with SungNamZ.

Absolute minimum, get ZFX & Z5. ANY car, no matter how new, needs at least a couple coats of Z5. If you want to go shinier later when you have more money (or when you run out of Z5), you can layer Z2 on top of the Z5. On top of this, Z5 has been shown to look better on Silverstone than Z2. (After talking to Sal when the new formula came out, I did half my car with Z2 and half with Z5 & solicited opinions. Everyone said the Z5 side looked better. There's a thread somewhere....)

The next thing after the ZFX & Z5 (and you really should do this) is the claybar. If you care about your shine, claybar before you ever Zaino; you're preparing the foundation that everything else rests on. You can get generic claybar at Pep Boys for $10.

The next thing to add is the Z7; you have to wash the car, so you have to buy something to wash it with, and the Z7 keeps your Zaino shine looking its best.

Only after that, add Z6. It's nice, it adds pop, it helps the Z2/Z5 go on better, but it's not necessary. I have almost stopped using it.

my $0.02

Claying is an important part of the prep process, if you want to achieve optimum results.
