what to use to remove salt attached to engine metals?

Default what to use to remove salt attached to engine metals?

any ideas what i can use to clean my '02 Celi's engine that havent been cleaned for almost 1.5 years or so...? been snow alot lately and past year so alot of salt got into my engine that's also b/c i took one piece that supposed to be covering one of the front grill from w/e getting inside the engine. too late now! is the only way for me is to scrub with brush?

what about 'minor' rust? sanding?

If it's just salt, it's soluble in water and should dissolve away with some minor scrubbing. If not, you have something else on it.

well... the salt's been on the metal parts for a long long time. but oh well, as long as other parts are clean. when are you going to be online Nismokid? sorry i was washing the engine today.
