Steel Wool Windows?
I just purchased a new 2003 White Altima for my wife (different dealer than the Z) I came back to the detailer to watch and he was using steel wool on the windows! This is a brand new car! What's up with this?
You can use 0000 steel wool on windows to remove stubborn waterspots. However I would NEVER do this on someone elses car - especially a brand new one. There are plenty of chemicals to do the trick.
i used to work for ziebart, we used steelwool on every car that had an exterior detail done to it. if we didnt we had better make sure that there were no residue / stains/ spots of any kind on the windows. from my understanding the steelwool is not as dense as the glass is and being a smooth surface w/ no pores/pits thers nothing for the steel to catch on. it will clean your windows very well however i suggest making sure to use plenty of lube (water/window cleaner) while doing it. as the sound will scare you
.. oh and btw. stoners glass cleaner is the best i've used and it comes as aerosol so its easy to apply. as far as waxes polishes, i have ot recommend 3m. clay bar? mothers. you can also use razor blades on windows just keep the blade at an angle or make sure you do not move in horizontal motions.. think about shaving
