Default Q: Best way to clean stainless steel w/ stain?

Hey fellas,

Just wondering if anyone can suggest how I can go about cleaing the melted urethane stain (off of my rear lip) off of my Fujitsubo exhaust tip? What's the best product to use to get the molten urethane off of the steel (what will dissolve it)? What should I use to avoid scratching it up? I have tried the Mothers aluminum polish along w/ a wheel 'scratchless' brush, but no luck. It's stuck on there, but if you pick at it hard enough, it comes off-so I know it theoretically should come off, just don't know what's the best way to do it.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Denny

I would try a propane torch to heat up the pipe and scrape the urethane off with a wooden spatula. The heat should loosen up the urethane and the wooden spatula should safely scrape it off.
Hope this helps
