Default Can you put a car cover on a wet car?

I was wondering if you can put a car cover on with water on the car? It is always raining here in VA and sometimes I don't find out it is raining until the car already has water on it. So I don't want to leave the car unprotected because when the sun comes out it leaves spots everywhere.

Yeah, not recommended. That water could have dirt in it and the car cover will move with the wind, thus scratching your paint.

Plus some covers will trap it and are not breathable.

Won't it leave spots anyway...you take off the cover later and the car dries, leaving...spots?

Not a good idea. Sun comes out, heats up the cover and the water underneath is trying to evaporate with nowhere to go...can't be good.
