Am I crazy?
My concern would be that you are applying and wiping on the surface of a dirty or dusty car.
If you're driving it daily, then it's probably picked up dirt and dust.
If it's been parked all day, then certainly dust has settled on it unless you've have it under a car cover.
In either case, if you start rubbing a towel across it to remove the Z-6 you are at risk of putting fine scratches and swirls in your paint.
If my Z has been sitting more than an hour since I've washed it and I want to apply Zaino, then I take a California Duster to it to remove anything that has settled on the surface.

Z-6 and a towel would be less abbrasive to the finish the your Duster would be Dave. The Z-6 would lubricate and lift the dirt off of the surface and into the Z-6 that then would be wiped off w/ a towel. W/ your duster you would be picking up the dust and drying it.
They are both great methods though. I use both. When I usually arrive at shows I do a quick once over of the whole car w/ a Quick Detailer similiar to Z-6 and whipe it off w/ a microfiber towel. Then as the show goes on every hour or so I take off remaining dust w/ my duster.
But I know plenty of people who actually NEVER touch their car w/ soap and water and use a quick detailer such as Z-6 as basically their car wash w/ great results. These cars are of course garaged and not driven daily though.
