Default Absolute newb questions on brand new Z

OK so this is the first car I have owned worth waxing.

Daytona Blue

I know sqaut about cleaning cars.

I have now
-a Pressure Washer with adjustable nozzles
-electric buffer
-no soap or wax
-water

I am interested in this Zaino and I want to keep the mirror finish.

What are the processes for correctly washing/waxing/polishing/maintaining my car?

Also I want a slightly glossy interior but not oily looking... what is the NXT

and also please let me know where I can buy this stuff, I have a feelign AutoZone wont do.

THANKS!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! On your new Z. Where did you end up getting it?

Anyways to answer some of your questions. I am no Dr. Bonz but I will do my best with the non-zaino questions.

1. Make sure your buffer/ waxer is a random orbital I use a porter cable 7336/7454. I like many on this board feel it is the best out there. Lowes, or www.properautocare.com

2. I use NXT b/c it is quick and easy, but I have heard all the testimonials for Zaino and I think I may try it. Any autozone, pepboys..

3. For the interior get 303 aerospace protectant. It is simply the best. Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than armor all. www.properautocare.com

4. Buy a California Water Blade awesome makes it so I can dry my entire car with one towel. www.properautocare.com

5. Buy DF towels from Kevin Overall on this website. These towels are great. He is a dealer of these towels and will give you a deal.

6. Meguiars carwash smells great and does a great job.

7. Get some sort of quik detail also.

8. Blue Coral polish for your wheels. I use never dull from eagle1 Not very messy.
Any tire spray is fine eagle 1, meguairs, really doesn't matter. Depends on what finish you want. If you want a dull black get muguairs endurance.

For actually detailing and washing in the texas heat this is what has worked for me.

Start in the morning-- Yes drag your *** out of bed and wash your car it is a great eyepener then after your all done hop in the shower.

1. Use hot water with your carwash soap. Never use dawn unless you want to take wax off your car.
2. use cali waterblade to take excess water off and use a towel to dry it there won;t be that much water left over.
3. apply zaino or whatever it is you are going to use. Try Meguiars NXT for a beginner it is a great product. To get a wet look use some sort of quik detail after you wax.
4. Clean your tires first (soap and water and a stiff brush) Then spray them with tire dressing. Then clean your rims your gonna find a but load of brakedust on your front rims its normal I am switching to hawk brake pads shortly to relieve this problem. But the never dull is kind of like steel wool but it has a polish or something added to it and it will remove the brake dust while leaving a haze for you to buff off later.
5. I have heard of newspapers to clean your windows I just use glass X.
6. Take lots of pics and make people jealous of your Z.

Drive that badass car of yours into the middle of the road and conduct a photo shoot!!!!!!!!LOL

Good luck with it.

I am just about to order my 350ZR and therefore have not tried Zanio on the Z but I have used it for over three year on my 330i and it is the BEST! Very easy to use and the car looks GREAT! Well worth the money. Just follow the directions on the web site.

PS my 330i is Topaz Blue a color that is like the Daytona Blue
