Default New stock record! I will not talk crap about the Potenza's anymore.......

Friday night I ran at a GTO meet and only made 4 passes, but noticed that I was getting some good 60's, as posted Saturday.

Well I went to Steele today hoping to improve on them. At first the track got slippery from a guy with a leaking head gasket, which apparently leaked out on both lanes, as he ran both lanes knowing this.

They cleaned it up, and treated the track after that. From there I worked on getting down from the 2.0's to the 1.9's, in the 60'.

Here was my quickest E.T.

R/T-----.836
60'-----1.983
330----5.744
1/8-----8.809
MPH----80.80
1000----N/A
1/4-----13.640
MPH----102.42

A couple of other passes.

R/T-----.502
60'-----1.974
330----5.752
1/8-----8.838
MPH----80.30
1000----N/A
1/4-----13.695
MPH----101.83

R/T-----.664
60'-----1.977
330-----5.770
1/8-----8.848
MPH-----80.60
1000-----N/A
1/4-----13.680
MPH----102.48

My MPH were down a little bit from my previous best, and I was sure thinking about 13.5's, but the clutch started to get a little smelly towards the end, so I quit before it did.

I also beat my best time around 8 times, and also beat a Mach I, 98Cobra and a modified SRT-4.

All in all I was quite happy.

I will not talk crap about the Potenza's anymore, as they seem to get better as they wear down.

I have videos of my best runs, and the other races I mentioned, as well as slips which I will post in a few minutes.

Here is the video link. You MUST copy and paste into a NEW window, or the URL window of media player for it to work.

I launched at 5K rpms for the best results, feathering it out. This is not good for the clutch, but it helped me get the power down during the first 60 feet. I also did two 2-3 second burn outs before pulling up to the line, with a couple of little test spins.

The track is in Steele, AL and is around 500' in elevation.

Great job, I knew it could be done on stock tires, I felt like if I would have had more than 3 launches on them I could have done it-my best being a 2.04 on only my 2nd launch on them Now start modding

Edit-what psi did you run in them?

Nice, even more impressive that you pulled those 60ft's on that pressure-nice launching.

Congrats Warren!!!! I have been officially de-throned, and I'm very happy about it. With a few more guys now dipping into the 13.6s...my time doesn't seem like such an oddity anymore.

Just wondering, could the power these gys be puting down stock have anything to do with being a factory freak....or was it the way you guys broke in your car. How did you treat your car when it was new?

It's nothing out of the ordinary...it's the right driver in the right conditions....I'm willing to bet I could consistantly pull 13.7-13.8 second passes and probably dip into the 13.6s in ANY properly running 6-speed 350z on the right day conditions wise.
