Default 350Z vs 05 Mustang Supercharged

Raced my stock 350Z against a supercharged 05 Mustang Gt.
Humidity was at 90% temp was 69.
We raced 3 times. I won 2 out of 3. The only reason he beat me the last time was i had a bad reaction time. Beat me by .0182.
Is this a normal time for the charged 05 Gt? Did humidity play that much of a role? It just seems to me that it should run alot faster than me.
My fastest time of the night was 14.3 - worst 14.703
Fastest speed was 98.96 - worst 96.38
Fastest reaction .530 - worst 1.002
Fastest 60 2.203 - worst 2.412
Fastest 1/8 9.233 - worst 9.647
This was my first time ever at a track. These times normal for Stock Z?
These are the tickets. The last run, doesn't make sense. He was in the right and i was in the left lane. Says right won but, the times don't show it. All i know is that i was in left lane for this run. I think they got it backwards.

Was the GT pressing the middle pedal while shifting? Doesn't make sense. You shoulda been beat by a stock 05 GT! The mustang owner is an idiot and can;t drive if his car was indeed Supercharged? What type of xupercharger?

I didsn't ask. I saw it when he had the hood opened to cool down. His time just seemed really slow to me.
I'm new to this so asking questions is something i forget to do.
I'll see him on Sun at the track, i'll ask then.

Your times are slow for stock, and his times are way too slow for even for a stock GT with no blower.

I am guessing that he doesn't have a blower, and doesn't drive very well, or if he has one, its got major tuning issues. I didn't hear anything to indicate his car was anything but stock though.

Steele is a fast track, so you should be in the high 13's at least, so should he stock.

I ran my best times so far there, stock.

Copy and paste into a new window or it won't work.

Same track, best run stock....

Oh yeah, you really need to work on your launch and shifting.

Try doing a little burn out to clean off the tires, and then do a test spin or two as you pull up to the line.

You also should set your shift light to 6,900, and shift as soon as it hits to avoid the limiter.

I launched at 5K rpms for my best results, feathering the clutch out quickly.

I don't have a shift light. And it's an auto tranny.
Would the humidity have a role in it? Most people were running slow this night.

Ohhh, ok.

A little maybe, but the Z doesn't seem to get affected too much, as my times have been similar in high humidity, and even during very warm temps.

You may be able to get a 13.9 at this track, even with the auto. Just work on that launch.

The temperature was about the same, the evening of my best run.

Plus, even if it was stock, and he can't drive, i still beat an 05 Stang! :P
I did line up with a guy in a 98 Stang, who had it in reverse when green light dropped. Everyone gave him hell.
Funny.

I have a friend with a 05 mustang GT

he does mid-low 13s at 106-108 mph with just C&L intake and 93 octane.

sorry to say, but unless the driver is a retard, at the dragstrip the 05 GT ownz the Z.

maybe it was a v6?

Thankyou.
If a pro misses a shift or rolls the tires, does that mean that the other driver doesn't win? No.
A track win, is a track win.
Don't try to steal my love.

Seems like it might be an auto 05 GT, not supercharged. I read the the timeslips and it doesn't seem like there is any indication of mis-shifting or any evidence that the GT is supercharged (unless the guy was purposely giving 75% throttle the whole time).

hey flz_boy what's up men, when are you going to fontana again???, i installed a new catted mid pipe and i want to test it out, but i don't think i'm paying $100 again. i think they have a regular track day on june the 18th..

now, talking about this post, it does sounds like a 5 speed one on that video. the 05 gt is loosing .1 or .2 sec on the 1st to 2nd gear shift. other than that, sounds and run like a bone stock 05 gt to me

it didn't look like that on that video. and also, there is no way your friend 05 gt is trapping at 106-108mph with only a c&l and 93 octane alone. i would give you the et though, maybe the guy knows how to drive, but it seems like only very few people can drive this cars to low 13's in stock trim. but because of what i've seen, a 350z with a regular driver vs 05 gt's with regular drivers is a driver race with the edge on the 05 gt, stock vs stock.

Because I'm changing jobs, I won't have any built up vacation/personal time for roughly 3 months to take time off for private days.

I'll defintely be there on June 18th, but its going to be extremely hot for the summer. Even the last open day was mid 90's.

Actually, the 05 Silver Mustang we saw on Fontana was a manual. He ran again last private track day, but couldn't hit the 13's. Mainly because the DA that day was equivalent to 4,000 ft.

The last Saturday event (same DA of roughly 4,000ft), an 05 Black Mustang (Manual) ran roughly 14.4@96 with a 2.1 60'. I ran a 14.6@95.90 with a 2.1 60's (good launch day, bad weather day).

I'm going to the track in a couple of min. I'll find out if he was charged or not. I think he's not after hearing the talk here.
Mach1, that's pretty much how it was. Whoever got the hole jump was who won the race. I know he was manual and it was a GT v8.
I'll post again when i get back from the track.

here is the video my friend took out that day
he has an h/c lt1, he told me the fbody on the video had a catback and intake lid, running on regular street radials, and is automatic with 2.73's.
the camaro ran 13.7@104mph on that run, vs 14.45@98mph on the 05 gt.

Someone may have tried to save a few bucks and install a supercharger kit themselves and messed something up. That's one possibility.
