Default VIDEO of the IS300 that crashed next to me @the track

Thanks to a fellow member, here is the link to the video of the Turbo IS300 that hit the wall behind me a few weeks ago @ raceway park... Due to legalities, they don't show the impact but you get the point... And if my Z was a sec or two slower,,, this may have been the last day of my Z's life...

Wow, that guy is a tool. He is just spinning and spinning he shoulda just let off. Do you know how much rwhp that thing pushed? It sounded nice, too bad it was an auto, and the guy cant control his car More money than skill = crash

I am not sure how much hp he was making but supposedly it was a 12 sec car... Also, he was running street tires. Not sure how he lost it but he lost it right before the 1/8th... Not sure if your around this weekend, but Sunday I will be racing at the Import Survival series at E-town in NJ and the following Sunday at the IDRA event at Atco in NJ if your around and want to check out the car.....

To much car, not enough driver. That guy wasn't even close to controlling that car.

A stock Z does not have the power to do something like that.

you'd probably need at least 500 horse to do something like that or maybe a lil less with some crappy street tires but you'd need a lot more horses to do something like that on slicks. one3502nv where in NJ u from. I wanna get a tt setup on my g I'd love to see your car. I havent been to atco this year yet. race alot there?

Ouch. That's sad. I like those IS300's when they're done right.

Hello...

Jason, that was ME.....I just became aware of this thread, So I decided to respond...

I am very fortunate that you were ahead of me at the time I lost it...

I had previously just run a 13.0 @ 115.6 MPH about 30mins before....car was running excellent...yes, I was running on street tires, on 19 inch HRE's....I was running on 15 psi of boost, which was roughly 440 RWHP....I had some BFG DR's at home waiting to go on the following week....yet, I never would get that opportunity...

basically what happened, I was spinning the tires way too long...and I did not let off soon enough to try and regain the car....being an automatic, a shitload of power was going through, and once traction was made, it hooked....I was just in it for the ride, and I am VERY THANKFUL that I had the impact on the entire right side of the car...

there is NO video that I am aware of that shows the actual "IMPACT" that is the only reason that this video posted does not include that footage, because it is non-exisent between my in-camera film, as well as the guy who was filming it from the stands who edited this video....

otherwise, I walked out and that is the most important thing of all......

any other questions, feel free to ask...otherwise, I'll be at ETOWN on sunday with a friend who will be racing his Blue Supercharged IS300, with MY Drag radials...

sidenote: I was down at the lotmeet thing last night, and had heard you were at the applebees by the wegmans on rt 9...didnt end up seeing you, so I guess I'll find you on sunday...

Hey Marc,
Just glad your ok and glad I had a good run or who knows what would of been.... I was at the main lot for a few mins but then the cops had their way and we headed to Apple's.... Yup, I will be racing this sunday @ E-Town so look for me.... What the freaky part of my night was,,, after seeing all the flashing lights after I was slowing down was that I ran a 11.666--- kinda of spooky..... I obviously decided to call it quits for the night after that... Allthough I didn't see you lose it, I was still shooken up, especially after seeing my timeslip.... I assume you will be building another Lex so I'm sure I'll see you soon,,, just hopefully not next to me!!! See ya Sunday...

tsopranoIS300-what are you doing about the car? Are you reporting it to insurance as an accident that happened outside of the track? Or are you just cutting your loses and not reporting it at all? Im curious as to what one would do in this situation, cuz if I recall correctly insurance wont pay for damages at times events.

had to report it, and the policy clearly states that organized sanctioned racing is a violation.....however, i had heard of a loophole since the race occured on a "test and tune" night....the insurance company didnt buy that either, and apparently my policy had that mentioned as well....but I pretty much knew i'd be **** out of luck anyway as far as insurance is concerned....

i've heard of people getting towed to the side of the road on a highway, or parting out the car and dumping it in a remote location and then reporting it stolen....however, insurance fraud is not the smartest thing to do in those types of situations..

anyway, I was able to salvage and part out the car...Engine, transmission, all electronics, etc....so, it wasnt a total loss in regards to the main components....thankfully...
