I am no expert in the matter but my boy in his 05 GTO with 430 WHP (cams + exhaust) runs 12.1@126 all the time.

Your car has to be faster than his, you have more WHP/TQ not to mention your car is lighter.

My guess for you is 11.6 @130

12.5 -12.8 for your first time out. it is an 11 sec car under the right circumstances.

EDIT: He runs 12.1@116

So my guess for you would be 11.6@123

a trap of 126mph would be simply amazing with only 430whp! Or it would have to be in like a lotus elise, or a miata! lol!

12.6-12.8@120-122mph is my guess with that high track, hot air and rear suspension/tire setup. Let us know....

Will do. I think there is a 50/50 chance that my car will be ready for the 1/4 by Wednesday, but I will definately be at Friday's drag races. I will report back whenever I get a time slip.

Lol guys. Traction with those tires that TQ and that camber will be non existent. I wouldnt even run it it wont be near the potential of the car. Most wouldnt run on a road course with drag slicks, why run a car set up for road course down the 1/4. All in fun I suppose...

That's why I guessed low. I have seen that too many times at the drags. And...I wouldn't want to be lined up next to him, since he is probably going to be all over the place. But it will be fun for him and with the right set up and practice will run fast at the drags.

The only reason I am doing it is because I am running a local triathalon of motorsports event. Basically we do drag racing friday night, track racing saturday, and autocross sunday. We add each persons lowest times from each event and the person with the lowest overall time wins. Otherwise, I am not a huge fan of drag racing.

That sounds like fun, but you might want to be conservative at the drag race. I watched a guy on this board do a 360 and still turn a 19 flat.

You can still turn a great time if you don't try to kill the course the first time out.

Conservative will be an understatement lol. I am not a drag racer and I am not going to pretend to be. The funny thing is, I think that the more conservative I drive, I may get a faster time than I would trying to go as fast as I can and spinning the tires the whole way.

I agree. You know your car just get off when you feel you are losing traction until you can hammer it. You can lose a lot of time spinning the tires.

wouldnt mind seeing that video of a car doing a 360 on the track and still finishing. Anytime i see a car go more then 45 degrees sideways it usually ends up in the wall!

well this weekend i was at a road course with my r compound hoosiers, they actually hook up pretty good in a straight line, they are 245 40 18s. so as long as you dont get crazy off the line, you should be able to get a little traction.

good luck and let us know..
