title says it all.

i need to try on some helmets before buying. Prefer to spend $300 or so. don't need anything fancy, just something functional and approved. lots of online places, but where to go to try them on?

Shopping for a helmet can be difficult. Motorcycle shops have plenty of helmets but generally do not carry top of the line names such as Simpson and Bell. Size is relative but helmets seem undersized. If you have a medium head, a large helmet will fit. Try on a few helmets and get an idea about size. Measure your head with a tape. Convert inches to helmet size. Check for Snell certification. Order online.
