Default my timeslip, break it down davidv! alberto ect

third time out, still less then 15 runs under my belt. It was a cold night, last night of the season so it was packed. Only got in 4 runs.

Best ET
r/t___.994
60'___2.203
330___6.029
1/8___9.165
mph__80.19
1000_11.843
1/4___14.093
mph__100.49

since r/t didnt matter, i didnt bother with trying to get it down low. I was going to wait till i was ready.

Power shifted on that run, its not too hard but i know theres still some speed left in my shifts. Tried to wait till redline but normally shifted ahead of time.

Track was at commerce, the atlanta dragway. Ive heard its a slow track.
Was running with 255/45 in the back, hankook hrii ar 26 psi cold and suspension set to full soft all around.

60ft needs help. Even so, the ET IMO is slightly slow for the 60ft. With a high 2.1 stock I went 13.80 @ 100. Were you spinning a lot on the 1-2 shift? Not knocking you, but why powershift if you feel you could shift faster? That wont help your time and will only glaze your clutch/fw if done slowly. Overall, not bad more practice will certainly help you. Also, shift at redline not before!

i meant i could speed up my power shift a bit. I was nervous doing it but have built a little confidence in it.

As in clutch in, shift and dump faster. Not shifting like normal, that is slow!

thanks for the input. I dont think there was much spinning except off the line. I do need better tires tho.

Your traps are solid, you just need to get that 60ft down a bit and you'll break into the 8's and 13's no problem.

By the way that would drive me insane to only get 4 runs for the hole day. Good luck at your next event

What I am curious about is the difference between the 1/4 and 1/8 mile trap speeds. The Z is picking up only 20 MPH. I would like to see the car running stronger.

you guys are making too much of a big deal about mph gain in the backhalf of the track. It doesn't mean much.
What means more is the time it takes for the car to cover the backhalf. 4.9sec is what you see for almost every stock Z that is driven well.

That timeslip is solid.
I ran 14.08@100 with a 2.18 60', but I have a bone stock 03' Touring
Also picked up 21mph in the backhalf, but covered it also in 4.9sec

man even with a 2.2 60ft and a 100mph trap i would expect to see the car break into 13's. Did you lighten the car up any when u raced? ie how much gas?

I would be pretty content with that run. Trapping over 100mph is a good thing, you just need to work on your 60' as its been said many times.

Here I'll make you feel better. My first time at 1/4 mile track in my fat a$$ roadster (stock weight, stock motor) with 20s. I short shifted 1st and 2nd, should have shifted at redline but probably only at 6400ish.
And yes the R/T sucked ***** but I didn't care about the christmas tree.

Actually, there has been a lot worse then that. A 2.1 60', even though its a high 2.1, is still a lot better then most of the 2.2 60's. Also 14.6 is not all that bad, and Snakebitten just trapped 96mph with his 20's also, but he has a coupe not roadster. Your not off to that bad of a start. Go mod that fat *** car of yours!!!

I actually had a better 60' that day on another run but I royally missed 2nd. I was up against another Z and fellow my350Z member Kirkster (LS Z). I guess I got a little too excited.

Next time I go I'll be on slicks and def. something smaller then 20s.

That sucks. I get pretty excited when I get a good launch too, you just gotta stay calm though and hold it in!
