Top 350Z Competition Winners. Elimination Rounds Won. Reaction Time.

Members have expressed an interest in 350Z competition winners. Summit ET racing (also referred to as Bracket racing and Eliminations) is the most popular competition drag racing. Two cars race one another, and the faster car spots the slower one. First to cross the finish like wins. Each round half of the cars are eliminated. This is a simple example:

Round #1 - 16 cars
Round #2 - 8 cars
Round #3 - 4 cars
Round #4 - 2 cars
Winner

Essentially a 4 round winner is the best of 16 racers.

The time slip for eliminations will look like this. It clearly shows a WIN.

So post your number of rounds won. I need:

# of rounds
Dragstrip name
Location
and Date.

The same rules apply as in the Top 25 1/4 miles times. Post time slips for verification.

Another important part of competition is RT (Reaction Time). A good RT is the key to a win, and very difficult to achieve.

RT during practice (Test & Tune) doesn't matter: there is no fault or penalty for a red light. Only when competing is RT important: a red light is a fault, and you are eliminated.

RT in a competition race looks like this. There is a WIN on the time slip.

So post your RT. I need:

time
Dragstrip name
Location
and Date.

The same rules apply as in the Top 25 1/4 miles times. Post time slips for verification.

LOL. Obviously not.

I assumed that more 350Z racers were competing, not just running test & tune. There are several types of competition that I failed to include because they are so difficult to compare. Take for instance heads-up racing in a open class. If a member has, say, 4 wins, they may have been racing 15-second Hondas.

Another is Quick-16 in a class such as Modified Hybrid (6 cylinder and 4 cylinder with one power adder). If you make the bump, you will be paired and run another car heads-up. I haven't figured out how to list such a race.

If this thread dies due to lack of interest, then it just dies. My hope is that it will spark interest in competition racing. After all ET is cool, but the objective of racers is to compete against other cars and win.

Would appreciate suggestions from members?

I know that you guys compete and win, and have some great reaction times. Lets see some time slips.

Well, I had a really good time bracket racing, and look forward to doing it again.

Here are my slips, pix are not the greatest, but it should work. I guess its time to get a scanner!

From left to right is the order i ran in.

My first run was my best R/T= .095

I wouldve won my 3rd round if it wasnt for a stupid mis-shift. I still only lost to him by .050 though!

So I only won 2 rounds.
This was done at New England Dragway.
It is in Epping, New Hampshire.
On Sunday, April 22 2007!

I'll have to dig them out, but I have numerous .000 R/T slips, and .500, from the old system.

I've done a little bracket racing.

Hard to read, right lane, and terrible run.

I've got a 13.55 from tonight that I'll post later, track prep meant 1.95-1.98 60's were possible all night.

I won 2 rounds. Not sure what happened to car #26. I think that the driver stalled inadvertently tripping the red light.

Davidv, good RT, 60', and ET. I like your leisurely pace in the 2nd round.

Are you still on Goodyear Eagle F1s?

I spotted #26 1.83 seconds and kept waiting for him to go but he never went. LOL.

I run 245 mm Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season tires.

well I had a 5 round winner today (5/8/08) and I also had a 6 round winner in march (3/27/08). had a .007 R/T today but they took my slip in exchange for my best r/t prize so no r/t leaderboard for me (no verification)...anyway, here are the slips.

5/8/08

3/27/08
