Drag racing gone bad
He was in the far lane and started to lose is within the first 2-300 feet. Hit his wall, swerved and overcorrected and ended up hitting the close lanes wall. He missed the prelude though.
I was at the front of the staging lanes so he didn't end it too far down the track cause i could see him miss the prelude and just saw the top of his car when he came to a stop.

man ive seen alot of **** ups at the drag strip
i even almost had a little accident in an auto C6 that could have turned out like that GTO.
it was about 30 degrees and my first run of the day. i had it loaded up with the brake held down and was giving it enough gas where it was just about to jump foward. well when the light went green it instantly didnt hook up at all. and i went straight off the strip and stopped about 6 inches from the guard rail due to the active handling .those auto 4 speeds have terrible torque converter problems.
it was weird i had ran that car alot and this was the only time it had that problem. but i took that has a sign and i havent ran it since
the worst thing i saw was this guy and his wife were taking turns running their mustang cobra (maybe like a 2004 or something) the husband was laughing at his wife for being so timid on her runs. so the next run the must have redlined that son of a ***** and dropped it. about at about the 60 ft mark the whole rear end fell out of that car. pieces all over the track. that was crazy

ha yeah. i remember my old nismo CAI fell off of my Z during a run a few years ago.
i thought the motor had blown or something because i didnt realize it was just in safe mode. well all i could think about was getting the damn car away from the drag strip. you guys would have been dying laughing if you had seen me with the pedal floored going like 5mph smoke rolling out the back driving away from the strip.
funny i do roadrace where i run 120+ with other cars and autoX everymonth local strip is where i had 3 bad experiences.

that was strike 1 the C6 was 2 and the reason i havent done the drag strip in over a year was strike 3 i was pulled up to the staging lane in the Z and the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor. it finally came up but i was, man im gonna screw this car up over running a little 1/8 with some rednecks on mustangs on a thursday night. so i retired for now.
on a serious note i havent seen a car hit the wall but ive seen 2-3 fairly bad motorcycle accidents there
didnt someone post a vid sometime back of a turboed IS300 eating the wall?

im sure its the same. we do live in the land of the all mighty F body
Ya this guy in the GTO bounced off the K-rail on his left crossed lanes in front of the prelude he was running. Hit the K-rail on right with his front end, which spun him around and his tail ended up hitting the K-rail again. He had to be transported to an area hospital. Looks like he never let off the gas.
Yesterday was a bad day for racing, It was cold, and the head wind was blowing pretty good. Most people were sitting in their cars with the heaters on. No tents were up bc of they were flying away! The water in the burn out box was either blowing out or freezing. I think it warmed up to about 50degrees.
The SRT-4 blew his flywheel through his intake manifold and spilled all kinds of fluids the last few hundred feet.
There was a 240Z that dripped some stuff too!
Total down time about 2hours.
here are some pics from the day...a whole lotta SRT-4's out there!
hey rookie what were you driving??

cracked flywheel, bolts not installed correctly......I can't think of anything else that would have thrown the wheel. He wouldn't have to be moddifed....

Hit me up next month, I've been running at the street legals every months since Sept.
The track was soooooo cold. The SRT4 let is go right before our group so the track cooled down. I ran that prelude that got missed by the GTO, we both had no slips so they gave us a rerun, which is why I was soo close in line to see the GTO crash.
I'm always a bit surprised when people wreck and all they have to do is drive a straight line. I guess it's a case of too much car, not enough driver. I'd hate to see that person on a road course. Someone thank that driver for keeping it on the track.
