Default 2nd place in pro car division

Well this weekend their was a small event that turned out pretty big at the end down here in Miami. They had six classes and i entered the tournament in pro cars which is 8.0 to 8.9 in the 1/8 mile with bracket racing. I run faster then this but decided here i might best off. Well before the tournament started i decided to do i pass which landed me a 7.8 with a 1.8 0-60. After that the tournament started i dialed an 8.0 so i did my first two runs and as you can see my slips i was right on target the even though i have to play with 2nd to get into third since the tranny aint building enough line pressure in time to shift. But my third run which was for the 1st place i broke out by
.058 which i was bumed out but i think all in all i did pretty ok since i did have to be playing around in 2nd to go into third i even let off right after i passed him.

Two pics of the trophy and also my times slips the first slip is of my free run that i did a 7.8 then after is the tournament slips it follows in order from first run to final run.

Comments are welcome

the third run looks like your only good run, first one lost, second and 4th one you were sleeping at the tree.

one of them you both redlighted but you had the better redlight.

good to see people competing though, weird that they dont put numbers on there off your car and they are still using a .500 tree?? was it a pro tree, if so then i understand the lights, those arent easy to hit if you arent used to them....

also on the last run, it awarded you the winner but looks like you broke out??

keep it up!!!!

Question

This round is a bit unusual. The right lane breaks-out but wins.

Edit: I see what it is: a double red-light. My bad.

Yea i was noticing that i i red lighted. I wasnt trying to have the best reaction or 0-60 due to the fact that my car runs a 7.8 if you see in the first run so i wasnt trying to break out at the end but thats what happenned in my final round for first place as soon as i passed him i let off but i couldnt hold it back enough to get an 8 well atleast i was near my times in the 3 runs very close i say. When i move now to orlando this coming weeks ill try to put up some new numbers and maybe set a record for a stock block and OEM AT tranny im shooting for 11's in the 1/4 mile.

I'm a little confused on how trap speeds and times work.I know that reaction time has nothing to do with it..so I guess my question is how can you run a 8.051@ 93.7mph and then run a 7.847@92.2mph(slower mph than the first one).I ran my Z this weekend in the 1/8th and ran a 7.85@102.2.I don't get it!! Also what rpm are you launching at to get those 60' times and are you on slicks or drag radials?

Audible/ Jeremy maybe you can chime in on this. Also do you want to bring your rpms up to boost level prior to launching(so long as your tires aren't spinning) so that when you launch you are in boost immediately. My boost is at 3000rpms and when I did this my spotter said my tires were breaking loose although I didn't feel it. Help us AT guys out

Thanks

1/8 mile trap speed: There is a timing light across the track at 628 feet another at 660 feet. The trap timer is ON at 628 feet. It is OFF at 660. The average speed during the final 32 feet is calculated. During the last 32 feet 2 vehicles will be accelerating at different rates. ET may be the same, but trap will be different.

So is it possible that I ran 10 mph faster than Fairlady and had a similiar ET.I wasn't looking at the speedo to see my speed but thats what the time slip said.

10 MPH is one hell of a difference for a naturally-aspirated 350Z (like mine), but for forced-induction I don't know.

APS TT-Crawford Plenum-VB-Injen exhaust and other little goodies.I run 10 lbs of boost with a pretty agressive tune. The only thing that I can think of that was different on that particular run(7.85) was that all the shifts were perfect and crisp with no tire spin, just chirps in each gear. Plus I was racing a motorcycle so maybe I put my foot a little further thru the floorboard because I wanted to try to keep up. I finished right at the top of 3rd gear without having to shift to 4th until after I went through the finish. He beat me by a car length. My other run was a 8.14 but I bounced the 2nd-3rd shift off the rev limiter which is by the way not a good idea as we all know. I will be going back to the track and see what happens and this time I'll keep the time slip and someone can tell me how to post it.

yea the vb helps alot i have to let off in 2nd to 3rd shift because their is not enough time to create presure line and shift. due to the fact that i have a bone stock at tranny.sgp has the entire tranny upgraded now its 3,800 but its fully built. I would get it when my tranny died since an oem is around the same price off nissan and to find one used that really works is a mission. But im extremely impressed with that trap speed i would love to see your timeslip not that i dont believe you but thats alot over mine and we basically have the same set up. Let me know whenever you run again. BTW were r you located
