Default Analyze my 2004.5s time

It was 40 degrees or so, this was at texas motorplex.

R/T... 1.977 I just went when I was ready
60'.... 2.206
330... 6.355
1/8... 9.547 MPH 78.32
1000'... 12.266
1/4... 14.558 MPH 97.24

This was my first time at the track ever, mods are listed in sig. First run of the night as well.

not sure if u know this (i'm suprised at how many people don't) but ur r/t has nothing to do with ur et or trap or anything other then how long it took u to hit the gas after the light went green, so don't let that bug u

Sadly no. I know part of my problem was that my clutch kept sticking to the floow when I shifted into second, and I spun through 1st gear most of the time.

Just pulling your leg.

Your first time is to familiarise yourself with the car, safety and racing etiquette. There are a dozen things in your head. Difficult to concentrate. I am sure that you gave it your best. Good show.

You need to work on your launch. Tell us, did you take the spare, tools, stereo anything out of the car? WHat tire pressure? How did you launch? Shift points? The more info you give us the better we can help you.

^^^Yeah what he said.

Also just practice and go to the track more often and you'll get more comfortable with it. This was only your first time so dont sweat it to much. I cant give any advice on driving a m/t since I never have in my life. Good luck.

Wow, so much is wrong with that time.

First off, work on that launch, after doing a small burnout. Practice will improve your launch.

Second, shift at an indicated 6,900 rpms, and shift fast. Shifting slowly will hurt your time.

He can't go past 6600 rpm as he doesn't have a revup motor nor a reflash.

Basically what I told you before is what you need to work on. I'm sure most people here will say the same thing I said.

I had all tools out, spare etc, I left in the passenger seat, but I left all of my stereo 2 10's and 2 heavy *** amps.

I set the shift light in my 04 to 6,900, and shifted right at an indicated 6,900.

The motor may not be turning the indicated 6,900, but for best results you have to get as close to the limiter as you can without hitting it.

Definately take VeeTec's advise; he's getting jaw-dropping times on his Z. Whatever you do, do not work by his standards and times, because he's just a different beast.

But take his advise!

VeeTec, I have an 06 G Coupe 6MT (rev-up). My redline is at 7000 rpms. I usually try shifting at 7000-7200 rpms.

If you were driving my G, what rpm would you aim at shifting? I get paranoid after passing 7000 rpm; I feel as if im doing damage.

I'm not familiar with the revup shift points, but with my old non rev up I would shift just before the limiter because it kept the engine higher up in the power band, on the upshift.

If you can run up to 7,200 without bouncing off the limiter, that is probably the best point to shift. It won't hurt the engine either, as the rev limiter would kick in long before you could do any damage. The only way to really over rev the engine is to miss a shift, like going from 3rd to 2nd, instead of 4th.

I see, thanks for the advise. Not here to thread hi-jack, but im sure the OP could also use my questions for his advantage, even though im rev-up.

Last time I went to a track, I tried getting past the finish line in 3rd, and was already @ 7500 rpm's. That's when my fear kicked in, and laid off the gas, which basically made my times worse. I should have just shifted to 4th

(I usually shift at 7000 rpm's)

I'll try shifting @ 7600 rpm's, see how it gets me.
