I didnt keep a log but I did try something different each run.
1st run
27psi launch at 3,000 RPM (lots of spin and wheel hop, had to let off the gas) I dropped the clutch and put the peddle to the floor. time was a 14.2 w/2.4 60'
2nd run
24psi launch 3,500 RPM (ton of spin and had to let off big time) same i dropped clutch and floored it. 14.4 w/ 2.4 60' slowest time ever.
3rd run
dropped all the way to 17psi, (ONLY TIME I RAN ON RIGHT SIDE OF TRACK)
Launched at about 1,800 RPM, 2.2 60' and 14.0@ 101. Still spinning, dontthink it was near as bad though.
I have to say, my overall best in my Z career was a 13.8 @ 103 and when i think back on it it was on the right side of the track. I was trying to think which side i am usually on and i would say 90% im on the left, its easier to pull on the out side lanes when comming around for your next run. From now on im going to try and request that side, i think my car hooks up better on the right.
Wednesday I am going to hit it up again and hopefully a constant track day will earn consistantly better times.....

Im in the same boat as the OP here...Went to the strip tonight for the first time ever and the best I pulled off was a 2.24 60ft. with a 14.04 1/4 @ 102.29. I was doing the same thing with just dumping around 3000, so next time I'm gonna take Alberto's advice and try to slip more. Hopefully I can pull a 2.0 and break into the 13's. This was at Cecil btw.

I agree slipping it is ideal but sometimes i just get too excited and dump it ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'd have to say the single best thing that improved my launch was the 275/40/18 bfg kds that i have on my rears.
I know a lot of people CAN pull good times on the stock potenzas but i sure as hell wasnt able to (they had about 26k mi on them before i swapped them out.) When i dropped the pressure to < 28lbs in the potenzas my car was all over the place! hitting sideways in 2nd gear down the track.. kinda scarred me into getting better tires.

Once you have that sweet spot figured out then practice cutting the light. Make sure you notate, or mentally remember what rpm incriment you are at also, so you know how to adjust and improve it. Good luck. P.S. I have an open diff and cut a 1.79 on Dr's a couple times, but my norm is a 1.9-2.1. I need a LSD badly.
