Okay guys i have an 03 touring with HFC, exhaust, spacer, cold air intake, JWT clutch fly combo. i running street tires and trying to launch my car at 2500 rpm some time it sticks real good and oter times all i do is wheel hop. i have the VDC off also. are the any mods other then slicks (thats in the future too) that i can do. Im thinking of some coilovers and 15inc welds with M/T but im not to sure on the best size for that i tryed to do a search on the tires but came up with not to much. my best 1/4 is a 13.655 at 108.27 with a R/T of .028. any help would be nice. thanks.

 

Work on your launch, and post a slip for evaluation.

If you are indeed trapping 108.27 with those mods, that would be a record!

 

Thats what stood out to me too. 108.57 mph trap speed. I think I may have to pull out the BS flag. In all my time here I have never used it either. This would be the first. Hopefully its just a typo on your part.

Now on to your launching. Stop dropping the clutch. Hold your RPM, lift the clutch a little bit loading the drivetrain. Then smoothly, quickly slip out the clutch. It should work. Only one other person on the forum has consistent wheel hop, and I suspect something is wrong with his suspension. There are numerous Z's, with good times, that dont suffer severe wheel hop unless they launched incorrectly. See what happens.

 

You are using different techniques. One where you get wheel hop, and one where you do not.

BTW I would also like to see the 108.2 MPH time slip.
