Default my '07 Base Z w/hks exhaust track video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks183JBR-1M

+90 degress and humid
tires ... 22psi

60' ... 2.321
330 ... 6.120
1/8 ... 9.176
MPH ... 80.61
1000... 11.787
1/4 ... 13.979
MPH ... 102.66

I'm not sure if the humidity has anything to do with this (moisture on the track) but I can't seem to get my 60' down below 2.228 which is my best so far... it's rediculous. I'm a decent driver and on the street I can feather the clutch and launch very well at 3500rpm.. but at moroso in wpb, fl I can't even feather at 2000rpm. The tires just spin off the line.. maybe I'm too excited.. I dropped my tires to 22psi but I just can't connect at the track. I need to try a different one because people call this one "moroslow" any suggestions?

The track seems like it is in a good location ( 23Ft Above Sea Level ). Looks like in your case it depends on track prep. Throw some drag radials on there

I was going to say use 22 psi and launch around 2500-3000rpm feathing out of the hole. But it looks like you are already doing that. Are you always using the same lane? Maybe one side might be better preped than the other??

Just some thoughts

Still a pretty fast car though. Most Z owners would be happy with a 13.9. Pretty identical to my PB right now. I have the same problem with poor track prep. Hopefully it will be better next time out.

temp and humity have to do with DA... sounds like the overall DA was high... the track I race at is only 640ft above sea level but at times the air here is equivelant of 5000+ft above... bad air = bad times.

I think with a great launch I can pull mid 13's easier. Because I see people hitting 13.4 in the '07 stock and I'm kicking myself every time I see anything 14 I might be letting the clutch out faster then I think I am cause I'm excited.. not sure, thanks for the comments though!

Here you go

Plug in the numbers for that day at the track and see what % of HP your car is putting out. Im sure its not 100%

http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_hp_dp.htm

You can grab the the temp info here. Pick a Airport that is close to the track to give you a round about idea.

http://weather.noaa.gov/

Let me know what you find out.

if you look in the right lane of the video, there is this s2000 w/exhaust, intake, vtech controller and test pipes. He's a decent driver and he wasn't running any faster then me. It was a nice looking car

maybe rolling the windows up would help. less drag. Can't wait to get mine to the track. I will definitely be pulling the spare and any non essential weight prior though.

If i plug in the numbers for my track with the condition here right now here is what i come up with

Air Temp 71
Altimeter 30.05
Dew point 64
Altitude of track 535ft

Relative Horsepower -- 99.2%

So this tells me that my car is not running at its full potential.

Hope this helps

Not bad for Moroslow...get your Z ready for the private track rental thats coming up in October at Bradenton..Bradenton will have a very well prepped track so you can probably better your 60' time.

What do you think your car puts down to the wheels?

If its 265hp then with the relative horspower of 98.6 your putting around 261hp. Thats not that big of a difference. But change the 23ft altitude to 535ft once Comes to 96.4%. With that, you would be losing about 10HP

All those numbers effect your 1/4 mile times. I like to check things before i go out just to see.

Thumbs up

Every tenth you drop off of this ( 60' ... 2.321 ) should give you 2 tenths in the 1/4.

Good luck and work on that launch

Nice in car vid...looks like you shift ok (you must have been watching Albertos vid of him shifting..lol). If you can make it thru the trap without shifting to 5th gear that will help. It looked like you were shifting into 5th right at the end. Next time try to stay in 4th thru the trap just don't bang it off the rev limiter.
