So I'm at the track and there's an e90 335i lined up next to me.. I'm like, finally I want to prove to myself I can hand this guy his ***.. lol. The tree lights up and off we go. I run a crappy 2.3ish 60' and end up with a 14.1 time, obviously not my best but not horrible.. ok..

THIS DUDE runs a 13.3X.. We finish.. I'm sort of embarassed by my time but say "damn man that car is fast.." He's like, "no I ****ed up.. I already ran a 13.00 tonight"

My next thought is what does this guy have done to his car. He had his hood open before we ran and it looked completely stock.. I was looking at a 335i before the Z and checked out how bolt on's and other mods faired.. so my next thought is the vishnu chip/reflash.. turns out that's what it is.. this chip supposedly gives 60hp and 100tq.. it supposedly doubles the psi. does this blow anyone elses mind??

I know with the options on his car it runs around 45k and put 10k into my 29k car and I'd have a beast but I can't believe a chip will do so much to that car!

f/i car from the factory.....no it doesnt blow my mind. gt500's pick up 60rwhp with a tune and a ton of drivability. for a couple grand they can put down in the neighborhood of 550-600rwhp

 

yeah those cars are damn fast.... never would trade the Z for it though. looks just aren't there.

for $2665, 60hp and 80tq is amazing. I paid $1300 for an exhaust that maybe gave me 10hp..

 

I love the E92 coupe though, looks amazing to me. The sedan isn't my flavor

I paid 500 for my exhaust and gained 10 hp. The price seems about right to make a car run 12's.

 

Stock turbo cars have great potential. Look at Evo's, STI's, VW 1.8/2.0T's...

 

We should focus on the problem. How to make you run better than a 14.1 in your 07. Post a slip so can people can help you not get spanked so bad.

 

A friend of mine put the ActiveAutoWerks chip in his 335i hardtop convertable. I think he paid 1600 for the chip now that thing pulls on me by about 4 cars and just keeps going. They dont do so well on 1/8 mile tracks but they dominate in the 1/4 mile.

 

Most cars with F.I. from the factory have tons of modding potential for relatively little $$$$.

 

The Thing that gets me about this car is that its not even an M3.

 

Well Wait Untill The 1 Series Comes Out It Will Have An Option For The Same Engine In The 335i And It Will Be Lighter Lol And It Will Be A 1 Series.

 

I think the 1 series will be a big hit. Small, sort of light, nice motor looks pretty good. What is the competition in the market for that car?
