WTF! That sucks, good luck Friday man. Did you drive that set-up around on the street some to familiarize yourself with the handling?

I would start at 5k and if it does well keep going up a little. He was just playing, my axle broke, but I ran it about 22-30 times before it did.

question about powersteering.. i had two friends of mine drive their cars (a z and a g) for a few days with out powersteering (drained fluid) and nothing happened to the pump... im thinking about draining the powersteering fluid at the track run a few times and then refill it... what do you think?

btw im also adding racing fuel tomorrow (112 octane) and raising my boost from 6psi to 9psi...

Thats stupid-you dont need to go through all of that just to run on slicks lol...take it from the guys who REALLY know. If your friends are stuck on running manual steering, find new friends that know what is REALLY going on

Dont do that. It's bad for the pump to run it with low or no fluid.

update: i went to the track last nite.. i only took the rear ones.. (didnt have space for the skinnies)

first pass: just testing the slicks!!! shifting at 6k 6psi
second pass: 1.8 60' but missed 3rd.. and 7psi only ran a 12.7 i got cold feet and left it at 7psi didnt go to 9psi... (dumb descision)

track closed!!! only got to run twice.. i was furious!!! not so fast!!!

im happy with my 60' considering it was my second time with slicks.. im pretty sure i can do a bit better!!!

till next time!

ps: is there anything goin on tonight at bithlo??? i heard some people from jacksonville are coming here to orlando and racing orlando's fastest??? at the track of couse!

You should call the track, I know Gainesville has a test and tune tonight, but saturdays run slow because of all the electronics that run.

basically just saying that the car reacts better without the power steering. it will understeer a lot but in a straight line, thats not a bad thing. those slicks he bought were "record setting" ones off mine and AJs car. i just didnt want him to go out there and have anything happen so i told him what we have figured out along the way...
