Default First Time At The Track!!!

And boy was it great! I loved the whole atmosphere there, waaaaaaaay better then anything I have ever done on the street. I ended up going against an 03 6MT Z (I have an 04 5AT Z) and I got him! YAY! First race, first win! lol but they didnt let me do a burn out so I ended up launching with a bunch of water on the tires and had a bad launch, but I still won and ran a 15.7 lol

Street racing FTL!!!!! TRACK FTMFW!!!!!!!!!!

You did just fine. The next time you will be less anxious and run better times.

I THINK I saw you leaving when I was coming. I saw a black Z leave. I ended up getting there around 9:30 and waited with another silver Z in the far left line. I saw an 08 white Z and a blue Z as well. But there was only time for 1 run if you would have seen my launch you would have known why I got 15.7 haha but I won so yay!!!!!!! I want to go back again, maybe next week or before the end of this month. Im sure I can hit low 14's

Yeah I hope so, and some car blew up all over my lane 15 or 20 minutes before so they had to clean all that mess up so I was the 1st person to hop back on that lane, but a really great experience that I quite enjoyed

Yep that was me. I did see a silver Z right before I left. I'm sure you can get into the 14's easy.

Yeah my first run I ran the 13.7 and the old lady that hands out the time-slips says she won't let me run again unless I had a helmet. Fortunately, the Z that I was racing had a spare helmet that I could borrow for the night! His name is Brian and he's on these forums, his username is Britx. I don't know what I would have done if he wasn't there.

*THANKS BRIAN!*

Brian is going to be at the track tomorrow again. Go out there with him and he could give you some pointers and also give comparison times (I'm sure there won't be a crowd either, so you can get some good practice runs). I'd love to go, but I have to go to church with my family. And my parents would never let me skip church just so I could go racing.

BTW, what times did the other Z's run?

There was a nice looking blue Z who had a negative reaction time so he ran high 14's, i think 14.8. The 08 white Z ran high 14's as well, horrible reaction time on his part though. And the Z I raced ran 16 or 17 lol we both had horrible launches.

And Im short on cash now, Baytown is a drive fromwhere I live so all I have for the weekend is $20, and I still need to put gas! =( lol but I do want to head back out there again soon, and get my time down to the low 14's.

And BTW a friend of mine has a brand new Stage 1 Roush Mustang with a cold air and a programmer and he ran 13.79, so you might be able to get him lol

I think you are misunderstanding. Reaction time has no effect on the quarter mile time. I could've had a 1.0 reaction time and still ran a 13.7. The quarter mile timer starts the moment you move, not the moment the light turns green.

yeah i know, i would think the auto would beat it. 6 speeds gets more traction problems.

+1

A lot of people misunderstand this part. That's why i tell my friends taht are new to drag to just take their time and take off when they are ready instread of trying to go with the light or beating the other car down the lane.
