How do I launch?

Every driver has a different technique. The street is a difficult place to judge technique (you have no measurement tool). Go to the dragstrip and practice. I’m happy with 2.0 second 60-foot times on DOT tires. Just practice.
good to know....this is my first rear wheel car. my old audi i used to rev it at 5000k and dump the clutch. slight squeal and 60' was 1.7 consistantly....not surprisingly after about 5 trips to the track, my tranny was toast.....german parts cost an arm and a leg..

I could, however, win Gamblers like it was my job. I had a 2004 Scion xB 5MT with bolt ons. I would hit 17.2 like it was cool... EVERYtime. Not a cool car, but with .00X R/Ts I looked like the man!!
