I'm heading up to the GatorNationals on Friday to watch the qualifying.

Anyone esle going up?

I am so excited to see the action. I have only seen a couple top fuelers ever run, but it was in exhibition runs at Moroso. Thought of seeing 40-50 top fuel funny cars and dragsters run head to head is going to be a sensory overload!!!!

 

I can't go this year but have been in the past..word of advice....EAR PLUGS

drove all the way to gainesville, and it turns out that gainseville is the only place in all of florida where it was raining (the whole day!)

MY wife and I met up with JETPILOT and his wife for some lunch at Hooters. Lunch was great and we tried to go back to the track. By that time, NHRA had called the race.

I bought some stuff at the NHRA store on-site and we wandered the pits. Most of the cars were put away, but we got a close look at a couple of them. That was fun. One team let into their pit and we got to get up cose with the their nitro funny car!

I am thinking about going back on Sunday but am not sure if I want to make the 6 hour (round trip) drive again.

 

I was sooooo dissapointed about Fri. It was too long of a ride to go back and the crowd will be crazy Sunday.

It was rainy all over FL btw...I was at the beach and it was pouring.

I wish I had seen this earlier though, I would have offered a place for anyone who wanted to stay fri/sat. night.
