Default Another s2000 vs 350z battle.

Alright our local track (1/4mile) opens up in the next month. All winter long my buddy has been givin me the gears on how he would put money on beating my 350. Im not sure what to think, ive watched quite a few vids of these two cars racing and have searched the hell out of it, but not finding the results I want.

His car = 2001 s2000, aem cai, skunk2 catback, vafc2 controller

Mine = 2004 350z, powerlab 3/8'' spacer, fujita intake

Given his car has been beat on pretty good the three years he has had it, and my car is in top notch shape. I think it will come down to driver?

yank off that Fujita powerstealer ya have....put on a popcharger and some test pipes...then start practicing your reaction times. your friend is stupid if he bought an S2000 to drag race imo....the one place his car SHOULD be straight up faster than your Z is around a Solo course, his N/A S2K doesnt have enough torque to be screwing around on the 1320. stock for stock a Z should pretty well beat a S2K in a drag race.

Stock for stock, Z vs S2K (AP1 OR AP2) = drivers race

Same goes for 2 slightly mod'd ones like the race you describe

Slight edge in 4th gear and up to the Z, but not enough to always decide the race.

Anybody that says otherwise in here is a fanboi

If you wanna laugh, here is me around 4 years ago racing my friends S2K....passenger makes a big diff as you can see. Without passengers Id beat him by the split difference in those runs.

Cool guys thanks!

Alberto, thats incredible what the difference of the passenger made!!

Last time my buddy was at the strip, he bogged down and stalled out of the burnout box, I think I should take this

You have owned your Z for about 5 months right? Do you have any drag racing experience?

About that yeah, but Ive only been driving it for 2 weeks now as it was parked for the winter.

Ive done some drag racing, probably about 12-15 passes in my old rsx and ITR.

ohhh u've drag raced with the rsx...this race is definitely urs hands down. haha j/k on a serious note stock to stock the s2k supposedly has a slight advantage in 1/4 mile (cuz u have the older z) but really its a drivers race.

Definitely a driver's race. From what you said though he doesn't sound very competent at the track either. Go get some practice and you will do fine.

Some of the responses to that video made me laugh. Does Dan's cousin still have that S2K?

I raced one with pretty much the same mods at a Milan event a few times.
They were awesome races! Very much a drivers race.

I was pulling 14.1(I need to learn how to launch ) he would get 14.3ish each time.

You will have fun, you better practice launching your car...
