It seems I have blown my rear end...

It sounds like they are exactly the same. Han from Intense has the exact same axles in his G35 and I have them in my ZR.

I don't think our rear ends are made for drag racing... but if I break one, I'll probably go with the level 5 axles.
Do you have the stock axles, Tom?

Well, I got my car back today. I had the dealer install my $120 ebay axle. The service manager said I did a "damn fine job finding that part" and he said it went in like pie. But, I got my old part back with the car, and it seems to be there is a bubble in the casting. Right where it broke, on each half, there is a dimple in the same spot. So, as I fork over about $250 to fix this problem (thank God for used parts) I wonder if I can get Nissan to at least cover the labor since it should have been covered under warranty.
Any thoughts? I will attempt to get a good picture of each half and post them here sometime when I pull some time out of mid air.

Glad you got it back together...let me know when you head over to Cordova again...if you are interested my club rents out Cordova again in Oct I think... it's 30 bucks for as many runs as you can make (Fiancee made 27 passes last time).
Oh yeah, definitely let me know when that is... i work at the Wal-Mart DC on weekends, so if its during the week it would work perfect. I absolutely refuse to run again this summer, I refuse to have a broken car any more... so what happens tonight? I hit a flippin coon and broke my bumper, and shoved it almost into my radiator. I can't catch a break (no pun intended).
October 3rd there is another midnight mayhem. I will be there, just not running. PM me or something sometime before then.

Sounds like a good time! Unfortunately, I will be working that day, so I won't be able to make it.
You gonna go to test and tune this Friday, I may go, not sure yet.

Just ask the 03' 04' cobra guys that still run an IRS
So, my first time at the track, completely stock 2006 Z. I pull up to the water box, botch my burnout because I forget to turn traction control off... and get to the line. I am figuring I will not hook because my tires are wet and the track is cold, and usually prepared poorly on test and tune nights.
So, I get to the line, and with very little experience launching, figure I will take it easy and go for the clutch drop... I revved to 2250 and dropped the clutch, only to be welcomed a wonderful jerk and pop. Of course, I know to pull to the side in case there are any fluids leaking (unlike the numb skulls running their Honda's ). Well, I try to go forward off the track, and no dice. The engine revs, clutch feels fine, and the speedo is going up as the engine revs...
So, i put it in reverse, and it moves, so I end up backing off the track, much to the enjoyment and sarcasm of the American Muscle crowd.
So, it seems I have blown my rear end. Shouldn't this have been able to handle the stock 300 hp? Was I a complete moron for launching it like that? What did I do wrong, or was it crazy circumstance?!
