Default 2009 Import Vs Domestic MIR

This is one of the biggest events in the area and the main reason I mod my car during the season. People came from all over the country and Canada just to race in it. For more info on the event go here http://www.importvsdomestic.com/. Last year I qualified 6th in my class and beat out an M3 by about .05 or so. I made it to the quick 8 last year and lost to my friends 12 second all motor maxima. This year the field was ALOT tougher. There were at least 6 12 second all motor cars in my class out of about 18 cars total. The event was 2 days. Saturday we got 2 qualifying runs and on sunday we got 1 qualifying run then the heads up eliminations began. I'll tell you now the pro-tree was owning me this year. I didnt have time to get my revs where I wanted them and no time to really get set. My previous best before this weekend was 13.47@102. So are my slips.

Day 1, run 1, Qualifying: I was against an all motor QR25 sentra that was gutted and on slicks. I've raced this guy in a recent import event and he ran 13.2 which was his PB so I knew I was going to lose.

Day 1, run 2, Qualifying: This run was against my friends all motor maxima. I let air out of my drag radials and bogged off the line.
http://www.youtube.com/burrtvdotcom1#p/u/1/45N0MWPRtg0 My race is at 1:50 (ignore my crazy friends lol)

Day 2, run 1, Qualifying: I was paired up with some type of honda not sure what it was really. This run really screwed me up because they had to back the guy up so I ended up revving the car with one bulb lit then when I went to move forward while revving the car I went to far and deep staged. Luckily I didnt red light.

Day 2, Run 2, Eliminations: So I ended up qualifying number 11 and had to race my friends 12 second NSX. I must say this was one of the best races I've had at the track even though I lost. He ended up staging slow so I got my revs all the way up to 3200 and put about a car on him at the launch. He ended up catching me at the 1/8th mile. This was my PB for the year.

Day 2, Run 3, ET Bracket race: After I got eliminated I entered the ET brackets in hopes to get a 13.3 run but it didnt happen. For some reason I spun a little off the line.

Overall it was a fun event. I learned that taking air out of your tires is not always the best thing to do. The run where I got a 2.0 60' my pressure was way to low. I added air and pulled my best 60' of the whole event. I really beleive I can get a 13.3 out of my car untuned I just got to get a 1.8 60'. Also I cant trap higher than 102 at this track for some reason. On friday at another local track I trapped 104 and 103. My mods are 1/2 inch spacer, strup test pipes, X02 exhaust, 3200 high stall convertor and drag radials. My car is a 2004 Touring Auto. When I get tuned 12's should come pretty easy. I'll try to get the vids of my runs and post them.

If you had the same weather as friday night you would have gotten a 13.30 with MIR's track prep. Probably would have gone 103-104 as well. It was almost 70 both days this weekend.

Probably. Sunday morning was the worst. When I ran it was about 67 or so. We had alot of cool down time though. Its crazy because all of my friends were dropping 2-3 tenths out of no where.
