Just wondering if anyone has actually used the "launch control" feature at the track with success.
Shawn at Church set my rev limit to 3200 rpm on launch control.
Seems more like a simple rev limiter since it doesn't control wheel spin.
What I'm looking for is more consistency off the line at the track. My 60 ft's range from 2.0-2.2 on the crappiest street tires you can drag with (Goodyear Eagle RS-A's). Now have Michelin PS2's in the rear.

You won't find an aftermarket "launch control" that controls wheel spin, they are all basically a 2-step. The benefit is you can be full-throttle and just manage the clutch, along with it being exactly repeatable every time, as opposed to you only being at part throttle at a random RPM point.
How does this "launch control" actually work? That is, what physical process signals the ECU to WOT (just after launch) from the partial throttle (before launch)? Is it the act of letting off the clutch that triggers the ECU to WOT? One of our vendors, KPierson, actually developed this 2-step a while back. If it's another 2-step, then I'll pass.

These are just to control rpm on your launch. I believe the 2 step will also build boost if you turbo'd. They do make actual traction control that reads throttle and wheel speed sensors but they aren't cheap. I believe race logic makes one.
I was just reading in the tuning forum and another guy just was tuned with this. I was wondering about it as well.
First track day is Sat. What RPM's do you fella's typically launch at?
Im modded/tuned as well on stock driveline, so I want to be carefull while getting a decent launch
they are all just 2 steps. it holds a certain rpm until the clutch switch is released.
The rpm you launch it is dependent on your tires mostly. 2-3000 rpms is pretty safe but some guys can launch at 5-6000 which I think is crazy

No power with lots of traction=high launch rpm.
i saw that Ztune sells this unit from Racelogic...this what you're looking for?

Osiris as launch control is pretty lame (go towards the end):

Get the 2-step if you're serious.
