I've been wanting to go down there for some time to run my Z. I've heard good things about Thursday nights but I've never gone. Maybe one of these nights I'll head down there.

Props for racing your Z at the track and not on city streets.

Both the 80mph 1/8 and 100mph 1/4 speeds are very weak for an 08. Gaining only 20mph in the second 1/8th is troubling......you should pick up 22-23mph easy. This points to either a lack of power or very slow shifts. 2.05 60' isn't bad on street tires.

well lack of power i've only put pop chargers in so I really shouldnt be much more then stock and slow shifts wise im at a drag strip I assure im not shifting slow.... The only thing i can come up with is the shift points im shifting at are wrong for me not to be traping at 102+ like your saying i need to be at.... I shift right now right before rev limiter! im guessing now i shouldnt do that?

We have stock HR's running 104mph+ with some regularity. I would put the car on the dyno and make sure you aren't way down on power. Even a stock HR should, again, pick up 22-23mph in the second 1/8th.

I assure you that you are shifting slow. Everybody thinks they can shift fast.

Keep practicing and you will improve. MAYBE affter 1 steady season you will look back and laugh at what you thought was quick shifting.

60ft is there for a much lower time, so its the shifting.

Your trap speed is very low, and your ET could be quicker.

Are you sure your Pop Chargers are giving you any power?

silverstone!!!!! And as far as the pop chargers no idea... Didnt get the z on a dyno before or after. I know intakes dont do much i got it more for the sound..... And as far as the shifting ill agree with you guys then that im shifting slow, but has anyone heard of the transmision problem with the loud whine? could this have anything to do with the slower trap speed? maybe.... But with that being said it was my first time out their with the z and with the redline i improved a lot with practice like everyone does.. Thank you for the input everyone

There is a big debate about intakes and power gains. I know which side I'm on, but I think both parties cannot deny that short rams intakes, w/o adequate heat shields (completely isolate the filter element from the engine bay air), suck in hot air in the staging lanes. You're ECU pulls timing off the launch, even if only for a few seconds, and you're slower. Another consideration is that cone filters change the way the air flow hits the MAF, and this potentially confuses the ECU into overestimating the amount of air entering the intake tubes. As you can imagine, that has consequences. Try this, if the strip is empty, and you can do a bunch of passes, bring the stock intakes too. Run both and see what you notice.

How cold is it down there?

The 1st -> 2nd shift is essential for a good time. All shifts are essential in a 1/4mi run, but if you mess that one up, you're screwed. Try to minimize wheel hop, but make it as fast as possible.

What are you shift points?

awesome, i have the injens and to be honest i didnt feel any gains.. maybe 5whp if i put it on the dyno but thats it. a friend ran a 13.1 with injens and 13.2 without... as far as the tranny if your talking about the whine when your in neutral and realease the clutch it's normal, just the throwout bearing is a little loud. my clutch got stuck to the floor last time we were out, im going to try to launch a little differently this time and see what happens.

thursday when i ran it was low 70's and shift points are just below redline.... and with what you just said about the intakes im probably just going to throw the stock ones on for the day
