Default Those of you pulling 13s at the track...

What kind of 60 ft times are you guys averaging? My best 60' was a 2.1 when I pulled my best time of 14.2. What's the secret?

i still hit 13's w/ 2.1 60ft times...maybe your shifting too slow? do you push the clutch all the way down when you shift?

your atmospheric conditions are probably pretty good compared to his. unless you correct the times its really not fair to compare them from one area to another

That's right. Air has a lot to do with it. Also, on my 13.8 pass I had a 2.06 60 foot. CBsuper what was your MPH?

My first run ever I ran a crappy 2.14 60ft (wheel hop) and went 13.80 @ 101. My best is a 2.052 60ft and a 13.77 @ 101.4 but I ran this with a headwind Just lower the tire pressure to about 28psi and shift very fast, I always powershift

My MPH was about 99mph. I know it isn't me shifting because after you launch everything else is pretty easy. And I don't powershift: after I powershifted on the Type R I figured it wasn't doing anything except eating my gears (not to mention working out my entire right arm).

Am I the only one who has broken into the 1.9x's with stock tires and no weight stripped? Interesting. I really need to go back to the track since it's cooled off/gotten dry here. That was in 90 degree weather at roughly sea level at around 70% humidity.

I only got a chance to run 3 times with my stock tires....and pulled a 2.14, 2.06 and 2.04 60's...with more practice on the street tires I don't doubt at all being able to click off high 1.9 short times...

Some people have different definitions of this....I call powershifting a no lift shift. Some people call this speedshifting, I call it powershifting. I still use the clutch I just dont lift off the gas at all, you have to do it very quickly or your revs jump inbetween shifts and you will burn your clutch.

I consider powershifting what Alberto does. Not lifting foot off throttle during shifting. This will kill a stock tranny if done repeatedly. (especially the Zs). But will yield slightly better times

An alternative way is to speed shift. Basically shifting very very fast and releasing clutch very very fast.

The best way is with aftermarket traction control. Such as racelogic. It will keep your control your RPMs during a powershift and keep them at the dialed in number. Flawless shifting

when you guys powershifting, you don't grind any gears?

when I just speed shift, from 1st to 2nd, I always grind gears, and can't get it to 2nd... I have to pause for 1/2sec then it will go... not sure why...

Nope, see sig . I usually run 2.0 - 2.2 60ft's depending on track conditions.

M&H slicks borrowed from my buddy with a front wheel drive maxima...they were skinny and I didn't even heat them up much so I wasn't extracting even close to full potential out of them...

Going to possibly get my own set of sticky tires in the spring and I should be able to get into the 1.7x 60' range considering I pulled a 1.83 with the skinny, cold ones.

No I dont grind any gears...you have to get your foot down on the clutch faster if your grinding, unless your tranny is bad.

I don't have my timeslips anymore but I ran 14.7 four times in a row. How's that for consistency. My wheels and tires are killing me, I think. They are way too heavy.
