Default How to lower your 60ft

My mods are listed in my sig and I think that my trap is ok, always between 100 and 103 but I know I can improve my 60ft. With stock tires I averaged 2.4 and with my new tires 285s im averaging 2.25. Whenever I try to dump the clutch even if its at 2k my wheels just hop so what I have been doing is not reving it all and then hitting. What am I doing wrong and what should ideally happen at the start. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Your dropping the clutch, you should be slipping it out. I find that revving between 2500-3000 just blipping it at the line and watching the light works for me. When the light goes green just feel it out of the hole....I run consistent 2.0 60ft's on stock size tires, getting close to a 1.9. Good luck next time out. BTW I find that dropping the clutch at 1800 rpm is good enough for mid 2.1 60ft's everytime, so if you cant nail the launch down try that the Z has enough TQ where it shouldnt be pulling anything higher than a 2.1 60ft..

Thanks. Yea I know people are getting 2.0s on stock tires and I can't even get that with 285s. You say your slipping it out so when your at the line do you have the clutch all the way in or closer to the point where it grabs?

Try dropping your tire pressure to around 20psi, then getting more aggressive with your launch. Never drop the clutch, always feather it on the edge of spinning the tires while keeping your foot in the gas. It's the hardest on your clutch, but most effective. If you experience hop, try getting some slicks. Slicks won't hop at all....just grab and go.
