Default 13.17@103mph at san antonio raceway tonight

Just got back from the track and had quite an improvement from last time. Ran a 13.17@103mph with a 1.85 60ft i beleive and a few other 13.2's. Best 60ft was a 1.81 but I still haven't mastered launching the 350 with the ET streets. Guess i just need to practice. It was pretty cold out so i'm sure that didn't help traction any. Should have a scan of the timeslip in a day or two as a friend took it to scan it for me.
here are the details from my second fastest run:
60ft 1.8917
330ft 5.4637
1/8 et 8.4326
mph 85.00
1000 et 11.0137
1/4 et 13.1960
mph 103.81

nice ET! I'm a little confused by your 1/8 mile trap speed...a Z should pick up AT LEAST 20mph in the second 1/8 mile and 85 mph is a REALLY HIGH 1/8 mile trap for a bolt-on Z. Plus you supposedly only picked up a little over 18mph in the second 1/8.

I ran the 13.3 in my sig last weekend and trapped just over 81mph in the 1/8 and near 104 in the 1/4...so I picked up nearly 24mph in the second 1/8.

Not doubting your times....just confused.

Some may think it's due to the slicks "hurting" top end, but I'll have to disagree...when I ran slicks last summer I still picked up well over 20mph on the top half of the track.

BTW - how did you heat up your slicks if you did??

Default ET Streets are the only thing I can think of.

I can only assume it's the slicks that are slowing me down on the top end. Time slip is on www.splparts.com main page for my fastest run. I ran at least 6 runs that night with no major changes in traps-all within a few mph, even the one I missed 3rd gear on and ran a 13.5. I was running between 11.5 and 13lbs in the tires-gets pretty floaty on the top end at that low a pressure.

Oh yeah, we were racing straight into the wind-i think the forecast was for 10-15mph and looking at flags in the wind we were driving straight into it. A few others were complaining of slow traps that night also.

that's a HUGE N/A 1/8 mile trap....get some street tires on that thing and get it to the track on a night when you don't have a headwind and I'm willing to bet you'll see around 106mph through the 1/4 mile trap.

And to answer your question on heating the slicks, I did burnouts for each run but didn't really get a good one till the last run. It's a lot tougher in the 350 than in the 300. Not sure if it's the difference in power or the brake bias, but I have trouble holding the burnout in the 350. Too bad some idiot in a Z06 took 30 seconds to stage on my last run while my tires cooled down and I just got another 1.85 60ft.
What are the best 60ft's people are getting with DR's or ET Streets? How are people launching on ET Streets? what tire pressure and RPM?

The best 60's I've seen on slicks in a normal (non full drag) Z is around a low 1.7....I personally hit a 1.81 on cold skinny a$$ 6 inch slicks...

I think the best DR 60's are typically in the 1.8s....

I think I ran around 15psi in the slicks when I ran them...and I just sidestepped the clutch @ 6000rpms...

yeah you definately want more air in those slicks...i run 14-5 in mine and the car launches perfect, no spin or bog...different car but you dont need to go any lower than me

I was 3215 with driver i think. I ran 15psi last time and had 2.0 60fts last time, although I only got 2 runs in that night. I was just experimenting with different pressures. I usually run 14-15 when i race the 300, but thought i'd drop it a bit as the 350 is a few pound lighter. Do you guys run tubes in the ET streets? I have them but am debating getting rid of them at recommendations from a other z32 drag racers.

I have tubes in mine but you really dont need them unless your running crazy low air pressure.. which I dont suggest, I ran 13 and almost hit the wall..Seriously..

I almost hit the wall on a really skinny M&H slick (6 inch I believe) with 15psi...after that I took them off my car and gave them back to my friend...

Default Only been to the track twice-ET Streets both times

Made 2 runs the first time (2.0 60fts) and 6 runs the second time out. 60 ft times ranged from 1.81 to 1.89 last time out. Hoping to improve upon these.

i was having to shift to 5th gear at the end of the track.

I was racing against a highly modded Mitsu Evo that i've seen run mid 11's.
