I don't understand this sport, or is it a sport?. Looks like it really eats the tires, brakes, engine, transmission, clutch, and just about everything else. Whats the point when you constantly putting $ into your car. Is any $ made on this sport to pay for all the damage done?

Unless you have a sponsor for at least tires, then this is nuts in my opinion.

I guess I am old school,

there's plenty of people that think buying a Z in general is stupid. Why would you buy a car with only two seats and no cargo room, it must be useless. Why are these cars made? There made for fun, some people use them for autocross, some for track, and some for just cruzin. Point is, drifting is a professional sport, it's just another way for owners to enjoy their SPORTS car for SPORT. I thinks drifting is a great display of car control, it's harder to control a car thats "out of control" then one with all four wheels stuck. Drifting is hard on a car, but it's done for the same reason anyone buys this car, for fun...... Plus it make me tingly

The car has no other mods then technosquares ecu and rsr's gt II exhaust. Stock suspension, stock viscous diff, etc. That masking tape adds 10 hp.

Thanks konspec

Yes, zand02max, it is hard on the car, thats one reason I left it stock for so long. The warranty got me a tranny at 14k and a motor at 28k, thanks Nissan. Yes it is expesive, but it is starting to pay off. The car will have all body panels replaced with carbon fiber, no charge. Thank you, Modified Inc.
I will post progress of the C/F production in the exterior mods forum. I'm heading in on monday to start on the bumpers.

Thanks, I will post another soon.

aaronlosey, that was me in the video, at the previous driver search. They held that one for the us v.s. japan event. I think they do a driver search for every d1 event. They should have this driver search in upcoming option videos. The driver of the other Z in the video posted 2nd in this thread, 03Z33, he's an awesome driver.

Yeah the vdc was on, lol. I've had the vdc and abs off for about 6 months, I feel more confident braking without abs, the brakes simply feel stronger. I just got to be careful when it rains.

I finally got my car back up and running!! I put about 150 break in miles on it so far... I can't wait to be able to get on it again even below 3krpms it feels great to be driving it again, I can't beleive it has been 4 months!

did you finish up the LSD install yet? Let me know if you need any extra shims... I'll be working at the Long Beach GP tomorow, stop by if you can make it, the drift demo starts around 12:00pm and the main event is just after..

I'm going to edit a video with footage from buttonwillow and a few just drift events.
Good to hear your back in your z! Bet it feels great, I haven't really driven mine since the diff poblems last saturday. I broke in the diff last night, then changed the fliud again today and now I'm heading for the canyons.
Thanks for the help with the diff install, Ali was confused because most s13 diffs come with bearings.
I didn't make it to the grand prix today, I was scared of the traffic. I knew today was going to be the most crowded. I went yesterday, now I want to race in trans-am!
