Default whats your favorite tech?

First off I wish the drifting forum was less slugish, lets rally guys!! anyways I'm curious what is your technique of choice for drifting? Eventhough are e-brakes are shhet I still us it for corrections, personally I rarely clutch kick but the main purpose of this post is just to see whats been working best for most of you.

Braking, Accel off, and my favorite, Inertia drift.

In Initial D game tho..

No guts and skills to do them in real life.

it just depends what your trying to do, and what the car wants to create a drift. i used to throw the car violently around, but as i'm improving i'm getting the car to come around with alot less provoking. on normal parking lot practice days, its basically either ebrake the first turn to create oversteer and start decelerating, or flick the car. then simply connect as much of the course as possible in one long drift. when you want to accelerate into a drift, clutch kick, as your adding gas, or if you have the power, apply it and the rear will come out.

get out there and PRACTICE your skills as much as possible, as even something as simple as the ebrake just keeps getting better month after month, as you learn to use it more and more. it is such a veristile tool, you will see the japanese pros use it ALOT in competition, as you can adjust angle and speed with it just like the gas pedal. it kicks ***.

Yea, the drift forums here are a little slow. It seems like there aren't many Z owners that drift their cars.

I personally like to use feint and brake/e-brake drifts the best. But I try and do a little bit of everything just for more practice. Our e-brakes aren't as bad as people make it out to be. If you change your brake bads, and go faster than 40mph the ebrake works fine. Just yank it harder.. I use the ebrake alot, and it works pretty well, but its definately different than my 240sx. But, it just takes some getting used to do learn how to modulate it correctly to do what you want to do depending on the turn and other circumstances.

my ebrake is pretty weak, and i've tightened it up once as it was completely useless after about 4 events. i was drifting a little road course in lousiana a few weeks ago, and the first corner required a consistant 3-4 well placed ebrake yanks to initiate, bleed off speed, change and increase angle into a decreasing radius turn, and then gas away. the ebrake was completely dead after about the 3rd pull, and the 4th one wasn't going to happen if i needed it. a couple of times i went wide of my clipping point because the ebrake faded so badly it wasn't there when i needed it.

anyways, see you at an event some day.

yeah i'm looking foward to the next event, i initally was strictly feint with some ebrake corrections, but what i've found lately is if i use the e to start the slide i can get a better angle much sooner. why is this so addicting

My favorite technique is left foot braking.
