Default Urethane Transmission Mounts In Stock!



Just got our first big batch of these wrapped up, and they are in stock and ready to go for immediate pickup/delivery.

Shifting on a stock Z is good - but there is significant room for improvement. Our goal in offering this mount was to get rid of the inherent sloppiness and extra movement that the factory soft rubber mount provides, but make it a bolt in affair that anyone can do at home with normal hand tools.

The Ins and Outs:

So what makes our mount better than stock? A few things

First, the casings are made of billet T6061 Aluminum. The factory mount is your typical low cost cast aluminum. Next, our urethane insert fills the entire inner circumference of the mount, ensuring smooth, consistent and reliable shifting without the movement that the factory mount gives. If you compare the 2 mounts side by side, you can see the difference as plain as day.



Our mount is substantially beefier. This means less transmission movement, and more consistently quick shifts. No more missing gears either on the up or downshift. If you look at the factory rubber insert, you can see that not only is it soft, but it doesn't even cover the full inner circumference of the mount. Our urethane insert fully encases the inner circumference of the mount, ensuring transmission movement is kept to a minimum.

Third - choices! We offer 3 different durometers (stiffnesses) to suit any driver. The stock mount is about a 40A durometer. Our mount comes in 60A, 75A or 90A stiffnesses.

This is the type of mod that works great with a stock shifter, or an aftermarket shifter, stock shift **** or aftermarket.

The 60A is approximately 50% stiffer than stock and geared towards street/auto-x and club type track day drivers. Works well with stock motor mounts. This is what I suggest for most people, as it gives you most of the benefits with the least amount of NVH.

The 75A is for you more sporting types – those who do some street/strip work, or who auto-x more frequently, and who want crisp, consistent shifts, without resorting to a solid mount. There is increased NVH vs the 60A, but shifting is significantly more precise. This is what I use in my own car. At home with either stock motor mounts or our solid billet mounts (or other aftermarket solid mounts).

The 90A is the stiffest, and is typically found on group n rally cars and full out track cars, as it is nearly solid – expect significant increase in NVH, but with the most shifter precision. Our billet mounts, or other solid mounts are highly recommended in conjunction with this selection, as it's intended for the hardest core guys out there and/or those who are doing mainly track work.

Installation

Installation is a simple, bolt on affair. Nothing needs to be cut, fabricated, trimmed, or modified in any way. We did a writeup of the install on our blog

With normal hand tools, expect it to take about an hour on jackstands.

Our new batch is here, in stock and ready to ship in both 60A and 75A durometers. We are out of 90A units and have no eta for those, sorry. These are now powdercoated black, includes black hardware for a stealth appearance. All ordering details are found in the first post!
