Snow tire packages
Hi all - I am running an 04 Daytona Blue...I was going to park it for the winter (as I did with my 300Z turbo for many years) but have changed my mind. My local dealer is asking $2200 + tax for a set of Bridgestone snow tires and decent rims - any one have any suggestions on a good spot to pick some up or any adivce?
I drove it two weeks ago on the first day of snow (not knowing it was going to snow) and it took me 3.5 hours to go from Richmond Hill to DVP/Eglington - there was just no traction with the summer slicks.
I am still seeing many Z's on the road - so someone has bought snow tires out there.

personally, i think driving in the snow on summer tires is very risky, to yourself and other drivers.
you can get snow tires from almost any tire shop. if you do not have brembo brakes, then the cheapest option is 17" steel rims and tires. 17" alloys are more, and 18" allows are even more expensive.
go to tireworks in brampton, wheel and tire zone in mississauga, or steelcase tire in markham.
i got a set of 17" alloy rims with pirelli 210 wintersports. i bought the rims from a forum member and tires ran around $1100.
the pirelli's are more expensive than an ordinary winter tire - a good inexpensive option are dunlop graspic tires which come in the factory 17" size and are almost $100 cheaper per tire.
