LOL wow could that have been any bigger, by the time I read that I'd have the damn TT kit installed

I know theres a lot more work involved in a 350zTT kit than my 240sx Sr20 swap, but I took that challenge without ever knowing anything about the thing, since then ive done a few swaps and would LOVE the challenge of the Z

install ?? what kind of sucker gets things installed.. DIY FTW
yea, its probably the tuner kit.. You would need to dish out more to complete it..

MRC/FP, were having huge deals in the Greddy/APS TT kit installed + base tune for $9k-$10k..
but then you would still need an exhaust, plenum, strut and TP's or HFC's.
It adds up quick, which is why I have not pulled the trigger yet...

Edit: greddy would need a FMIC..

To be honest with you I would love to tackle a custom turbo kit, fabing up all the piping, exhaust, DP, everything except exhaust manifolds, too much time.
I was gonna make an equal length manifold for my KA-T project, before I quit on that.

i watched my mech. do the TT install and it didn't look incredibly complicated (minus ripping the engine out completely). the engine bay is just crammed as hell and requires a lot of patience navigating the parts with a 1 cm clearance on either side.

thats the biggest issue, clearance! looking at everything in a Z engin bay and its like how the hell.

First time tackling that SR swap wasnt easy either though, about 90% of the bolts snapped, which was the biggest kick in the a$$, at least I wouldnt have to worry about that in a Z.

Like you said Time, I have the place and tools, and Im positive I have the "know how" for this, but the $$$ and time away from the Z would probably kill me.

Realistically, it's not worth it for me unless it was a hobby. I'm better off to work as a dentist for a few extra hours on the weekend and pay for it to be done professionally.

I did a couple of small things myself, like plenum, tail lights, wiper, lent a hand with the exhaust. But a turbo just goes beyond hobby for me right now. I'd rather be driving, or in the gym, or doing something else like uselessly wasting my time on UECT.

It would be more fun, if like Jenn said, I had a lot of help from knowlegable friends. But none of my friends are mechanics.

PS I saw a retard in a red rusty 240sx on the 401 driving like a douche with something to prove. I was like, ha, look at that loser.
End of story.

huge reason why I had to leave that scene !! my first car, got it back in 1998 loved it, but the drifting scene ruined it for me, too many kids come into play, just had to get out
