Could be an option but a 72' 240z > 260 and 280 with an LS1 or an RB26 .. love my buddys 240z

but theres just so much crap involved just like with my 240sx, stuff I just want to get out off Im getting old

thats why i was hoping for a nice newer fun affordable sports car.. ZZZzzzzz

A lot of people hate on the 260's and 280's, but honestly, they look the freakin same. I guess I could see the point if you're buying it as a collector, since it's not the original Z car, but if you're buying it to cruise around on weekends... you're not gonna notice the difference.
I just kinda assumed you had another car though, definitely don't get one as your daily

i'd be weary of buying a used TT kit. obvious problem is the condition of the actual turbo itself. unless you take it apart and inspect the condition, you wouldn't know if it was a ticking timebomb attached to your lovely vq.

for sure whenever buying a used turbo going over everything is key especially the turbine, even getting it rebuilt, still save tons of money

260's and 280's have all this excessive body paneling, some add ons that just make it look horrible.. yes overall its the same car.. but to an enthusiast its a whole different car.

finding a 240z that doesnt need some sort of body or frame restoration is next to impossible unless you want to pay a heafty price, and thats the crap I do NOT want to do again.. the crap I went through with my 240.. frame repair/welding...floor repair.. too much body work to mention.. painting the thing.. forget it, that was the first and last time I did all that crap lol

Read the reviews.. Most who purchased used, end up having to source out parts that were missing from the sale. When its all said and done, the total cost was close to that of a new TT kit purchase.

well yeah if you end up buying a used turbo and its missing key ingredients like the turbine, management, injectors etc, then you would be paying much more.. pretty horrible buyer if you ask me.

Many guys sell complete kits, maybe a few clamps, hangers I would imagine missing. Nothing that will cost huge amounts of $$

I was just reading through wiki, and other than the optional 2+2, the cars seem to be the same externally, with the 260 having the stiffer chassis, and crappier carbs on the early models.
