You guys check out this site alot what Eng builder should I use?
I plan on ordering a built Eng from the US. Not sure on timing but hopefully in time to get my baby back on the raod when the snow melts 2009.
I would check out Injected Performance Or Sound Performance..
Two shops that have actually made over 1000whp.. on engines they promote as 1000HP builds..
Oh and welcome back dave.. Have you seen the GTM vs MRC thread?...

after reading all those horror stories with mrc/gtm customers, i'm glad i didn't seriously consider going fully built.
i'll bow down the reigns to you in 2009 dave. i don't have the finances to play around with a fully-built motor. there's just so many factors that could go wrong and when it does, there's 7k here, 7k there and i don't have the money for that. not to mention a lot of these guys end up having their z's blown up and parked at a shop waiting to be repaired all season.

I would agree with you.. If were to go FI, I would probably run stock block until it blows..
Even in the "regrets about going built" thread.. most built block guys wish they would have just purchased another stock block..
You do know you're more likely to blow a NON-built motor, right? That's why people build them haha
i suppose it also depends on what power level's you're aiming for. it seems like a lot of people who built their blocks to push past 600 consistently have overheating or other issues even (as the GTM vs. MRC thread suggests) when they've spent insane amounts of money.
i suppose if you built your block to run a conservative 450-500 rwhp, than you'd be better off than someone (like me) who's sticking to the stock block and crossing his fingers. but if i've spent 20-30k on a built-block, i'd expect that thing to be 600+ hp and ... dare i say it, RELIABLE enough to be abused.
Well, if I were to boost the car, I wouldn't build, but purely from a financial standpoint If I could afford to build, I'd build. Rich's car is a bit of an inspiration though, most people say that 400+ is not recommended on stock block.
