Default Canadians, where did you buy your car?

Edit: Now that this poll is on the homepage, this poll is for Canadians to find out when they bought their Z and where to analyze the new trend of importing US cars into Canada! If you are not Canadian it's not for you! Haha.

The number of imported threads popping up just has me curious where our 350Z's are coming from?
Answer one of the following options:
1) I bought in 2002/2003 and my Z is Canadian
2) I bought in 2002/2003 and my Z is American
3) I bought in 2004 and my Z is Canadian
4) I bought in 2004 and my Z is American
5) I bought in 2005 and my Z is Canadian
6) I bought in 2005 and my Z is American
7) I bought in 2006 and my Z is Canadian
8) I bought in 2006 and my Z is American
9) I bought in 2007/2008 and my Z is Canadian
10) I bought in 2007/2008 and my Z is American

hrmm..which gears were grinding for you?

my 1st to 2nd grinds only when its cold and not all the time. So...harder to replicate the problem as by the time I bring it to the dealer it would have warmed up ;p

the sales mgr at my work picked up an 05 enthusiast to drive for a little while and then sell for a profit last summer.

luckily for me he had a really hard time curbing it here (edmonton, ab) because everyone is so afraid of American vehicles for some reason. So with summer on its way out we made a deal that he couldn't refuse (his wife was stressing him since he insisted it would sell quick, and he didnt want to have to sit on it over the winter)

i did some research and decided that 05 model year was probably the best bet for me (pricing and common probs) so all the leg work was done for me all i had to do is come up with the funds. The best part is for the whole summer when he had it around i showed zero interest in this car just to see if he was having any issues with it, after seeing it around looking/running mint he was quite surprised when i told him i wanted it and to write down his break even price so i can have a draft ready for him.

i feel like i got a great deal and a great car- no oil consumption (non revup), no tranny issues, all fluids came out looking ok....all i needed to do was fluids, cooling system flush, tires and brakes- and my local nissan dealership treated me like a king when i had the rear axle click TSB- warranty till nov 09!!!

my 3rd gear grinds once in a blue moon ... but not enough for me to go get my tranny changed. i've heard of people who changed their tranny's 2, 3, 4 times and their original was better than their replacements.

A lot of american cars in the poll (myself included). Not suprising with the price difference for the Z between US and Canada.

There should have been an option for multiple choices. I've had a 2003, 2007 and now a 2008, all bought in the US.

Falkville Alabama? Are you a Canadian living in the US? Did you read the thread title?

07 CDN ZR - whooo hoo the only one .. really OMG

i bit of a pet peeve, but i really don't like the fact of the US cars coming in....why you may ask - i know this is gonna sound a-nal BUTTT .. one of the nice things about driving the Z was the uniqueness of the car. It wasnt too often you saw one, not like many other cars around like mustangs etc... where every kid has one.

it was a relatively high priced sports car with no practicality which kept the kids from buying one and the older guys with families to go the route of the G35,

but nooooow (no offence to anyone who bought a US car, b/c i wished i saved that kind of $$ as well) but i see a lot of Z this spring, mainly b.c of the cheaper price tag of US cars, which is making me see too many NON enthusiast driving around like their Z is better than yours.

I love the Z community b/c we all respect eachother .. love giving the heads up to an on-coming Z .. i just hope ON, doesnt get too many Z's where we loose that kind of bond.

My 2 cents .. Dave

DONT flame me LOL

I agree with you. You should have been there in '04 man. It was bananas. Still a good scene for 350Z's overall though here in Canada.

you guys should have been there back in the FIRST year, first season of 2003. my z turned heads, people were always giving me thumb ups, and taking pictures.

now the z is a dime a dozen, i see them everywhere driven by kids, and the only fun i have now is shocking other z owners or g35's when i blow their doors off in my stock z

+1, but upon reflection, paying 45,000 for my z in 2003 seems like a rip off now that they retail for $28 USD or whatever.

My vote is in.

US 2004 ZR bought last May 2007. Saved some but would have saved a lot more 4 mths after I bought it when the CDN dollar was on par or better. Damn dollar made all my more exclussive mods easier to get as well .

My car still turns a lot of heads. Plus a guy was taking pics of my car last week in the parking lot. Ive had people taking pics of my car (Me ) on the hwy as i'm driving along as well.

Sometimes I feel like I'm being stocked by the poparozzi so I just blip the gas and Z ya later.
