Default WTB: 350Z in southern Ontario

I'm in the market and patient, I have till spring to purchase one so i've been shopping for some time now.

Besides autotrader.ca and kijiji.com, I would like to resort to the guys in southern Ontario, guys in the GTA i'm looking in you direction! If you yourselves or any friends are selling Z's or even debating, please let me know!

My preferences
Year: any (2003 must have a front camber kit installed)
Trim: track (won't even consider a base model)
Colour: black or red are top picks
Mods: suspension, wheels, exhaust and or front lip would be a selling point
Mileage: 80,000km or less hopefully
Price: $17,000 for me to jump on it tomorrow (if you want 30K i'm not a potential customer)

Yes maybe far fetched for a modded Z in good shape (in Canada anyways). But like it says, $17,000 for me to want to buy it immediately... I have all winter to shop around , I'm patient. If it is just what i'm looking for, well then i'm willing to offer higher.

Oh btw, you didn't happen to be up in Barrie with your Z by any chance in the summer did you? There was a very similar looking Z that would stop by in my neighbourhood, it was only ever there a couple times thoughout the summer.

Yeah my dad lives in Barrie in the subdivision right near Georgian College. His house in on a corner and I go up quite often to see him. So it was probably my car you were seeing.

Haha, yeah it runs 12.1 without nitrous so it's fast all around which is why you see my pops outside workin on it all the time.

Good luck finding a car... Nothin interesting on trader.ca right now?

Yes that thing probably rips apart the front components quite often!

Ya there is nothing that really gets me going on Autotrader, in my price range anyways. Even the cars I do call about once I talk to the owner/sales rep they have always given me a sleeze bag vibe which doesn't do much for the car lol.

I went and test drove a private sale Z Monday evening and I am very very close to closing the deal on it. The only real flaw was the syncro grinds into fifth (stupid '03-'04 trannies). These are the spec's, Silver 2003 track model (front camber kit installed), all stock, 71,000km and very close to my price above. My biggest concern now is finding a place to store it until May 1st. Your dad wouldn't' have a spare bay in that double garage of his he would want to rent out would he ?

Are you kidding, one side is full of race car the other is full of slicks, tools and car parts, you can barely stand in the garage let alone put another car in it haha.. Sorry dude.

Tranny's are generally pretty cheap for these cars, check www.car-part.com and do a search in Ontario for 350z tranny. I have seen them as cheap as 600 bux. Most tranny shops will re-re the trans for $750. So worst case you should be able to swap one for $1500 bux if it gets really bad.

I know guys have done them on the floor in their driveway, I haven't yet (hopefully wont either) but it can be done if you are descent at tools. I don't rent out my pops so don't even ask hahahaha...

I looked on trader.ca and a bunch of them look like base models and or American vehicles, which are worth **** all in my opinion since they were bought for 12,000 bux. Keep your eye out in Ottawa as well, i bought my car from there. The drive was no big deal, little over 4 hours per way. I just got pics and did the deal over the phone. Showed up car was good, loaded up drove to ministry got the plates then drove home. No big deal.

Ya no kidding, lots of them look like junk and probably are. I have no problem driving around to get a car, I have a buddy in Ottawa that I went to school with who would be happy to check one out should I find one I like there. The same friend is going down to the city this weekend to order a GT500 for the spring :S nuts.

As for borrowing you dad's tools, I'll just knock on the door and say Jim sent me haha. The only issue with me doing the tranny is the Z will be my DD in the summer. But I enjoy working on a non-winter driven car because every bolt isn't siezed on it, so i'm sure i'll be doing lots of work on her. Thanks for refering me to somewhere to find a tranny, and at a good price!

Oh c'mon spring already!

Just an update...

Yesterday I purchased a 2003 chrome silver track model with 70,000km, all stock. It was perfect timing with the warm weather I was able to get everything done, drive it home form Woodbridge and even go for a rip around late in the evening. It will be heading to storage this weekend though until May 1st , c'mon spring!

Did you check to see if all the TSB's were addressed?
