Hey guys,

i'm getting a viper 5901 alarm installed this week, now usually with aftermarket alarms(2 ways), the antenna has always been put along the top of the front windshield behind the rearview mirror...

but my previous cars did not have an autodimming mirror, so now i'm wondering where do people have theirs placed? b/c the autodimming mirror requires power, and so behind the mirror there is a bridge for the mirror's wiring that leads into the headliner...where have you put the alarm's antenna? just simply beside it? just seems like it would bother me if it was to one side...

I just got the 5900 installed this weekend and they put the antenna just to the right of the bridge for the mirror you are speaking about. I didn't even notice it there untill I actually looked for it as it's hidden from the moulding at the top of the windshield.

Also because it's right where all the black dots are, it hides it pretty well. On the other hand if your in the passenger seat, I guess it would be noticeable. But I only sit there when I'm cleaning the inside of the car.

 

ah...hmmm...yea i guess i wouldn't know where else to put it since antennas stick out on both sides of the middle device...
