dyno question - how do you get a tach signal for a torque reading
hello all
Back in May i had my 350 on the dyno at Dasilva racing. I was there for a mainly mustang show, shine and dyno pull. (my friend has a mustang) They were doing 2 pulls and a AFR for $50 on a DynoJet so i figured why not.
After they ran my car they said thet could not find a tach signal for a torque reading so i ending up with a MPH reading rather then a RPM reading. I also didn't get any torque numbers only HP.
Here is what the dyno sheet looked like.

I am not happy with the results. I have a bunch of friends that are thinking of taking their cars there for a dyno day next month. I was thinking of going back and telling them to run the car again for free and give me a proper dyno sheet. Or running the car again give me a proper dyno sheet and charge me less.
My question is, why didn't they get a tach signal, and how do a make sure they do again?
thanks
Kevin

The last time I was on a mustang dyno they had the car on the rollers, held the RPM at 3K (Rolling) then they had to calibrate the software. So the software sees 3000RPM as well as your car. Then atleast it's somewhat close.
