I never thought what an individual chooses to buy for his car could divide ppl that are all here for a common purpose. I say fak this stupid debate about authentic vs replica. There's not a golden rule that applies to all replica parts that automatically make them crap. It's up to the individual to do his own research. And to be honest alot of these authentic mad jdm parts are crap too. I'm not taking sides because I can understand both sides but it's getting tiring to reading about someone getting flamed based on their car mods.
the problem with this is that a bunch replica manufacturers, depending on the mold process and material being used will cause the resulting part to shrink or warp below away from proper spec. which is why there are a slew of replica parts from different manufacturers, that fit poorly or require extensive modification/filling to get it to fit.
however.
if you do your research before you buy, you can find replica pieces that fit extremely close to authentic. keep in mind there are some limited cases where authentic didn't fit as well and a replica company 'fixed' it. case in point Blitz lip spoiler. EVO+R reduxed it and apparently fixed some of the fitment on the corners. this is what i'm rocking right now as well as my replica shine v2 (nismo) kit, both fit perfect.
PS I was also reading a thread on here that an authentic First Molding diffuser fit like garbage as well.
Moral of the story, at least for me and what my priorities are, I will be buying an authentic V2 front as soon as my other car gets wheels and I've modified my garage to put a lift in it.
as far as i'm aware in most cases, replica parts are molded from authentic pieces.

Knukleheadz your car is coming all nicely. Just sell the damn LACES and buy the BBS wheels you spend your nights dreaming about.
You'd be surprised at the Fitment of my replica kit.. You can stop by the shop anytime and check it out.. Btw I dont dream about the BBS as I am pleased with the laces.
Anyways.. Who's down for a photoshoot when my cars done? So far it's a white Z and a black Z.. His and hers ^^

i see your point, but i think the quality question is more an FRP vs. Urethane issue. its really all a matter of personal preference vs. costs incurred trade off.
