Anything about rubbing like the B&M or rattle/vibration?

i have been running my RE for a LONG time now with no problems! it is simply awsome! solid, sturdy, just notchy enhuf to let you know what gear your in, springs back to center like stock, no annoying noises! i have heard a few bad stories about the B&M (do a search) i dont have any opinions on the "nismo" yet. i remember someone saying it didnt travel back to center as good as the stock unit? making it hard to "feel" what gear it was in. if i had to choose again now.........RE hands down! i worte a full review on this forum after i installed it. you might be able to find it? i bought it from bj @ www.350evo.com. it is a little more $$$ than the others listed, but you get what you pay for! one last thing, get a new shifter cup with it! it makes the install MUCH easier!

Thanks DeeZee Im trying to decide between the RE and the Nismo adjustable, same price approx. 250.00 Im not sure about the Nismo/Mossy its so new. I dont know if it has issues or not.

Ive heard nothing but good things about the RE so far. I did like the fact the nismo uses the stock ball and socket. Does the RE use the stock ball nad socket as well?

Still waiting to hear if the Nismo/Mossy rattles or vibrates.

what ball and socket are you refering to? do you mean the shifter cup??? you "can" reuse it with the RE, but i would get a new one! it is only $12 i think? bj sells them as well. it is an OEM part.

I'm getting in late on the discusssion but I have had the B&M for quite a while and wouldn't trade it for any other brand. It's crisp and precise. The only times I ever have a problem is when I actually get too rough with it. Gentle flicks of the wrist always result in quick, smooth shifts (up or down).

The RE is a great short shifter. We made the 350EVO SS because of the extreme conditions we race under and wanted a direct link to the trans.
The 350EVO ss was designed for racers and or race cars. There is a little bit of rattling because it is a soild shifter with no vibration dampening. I have our first solid one in my street car and love it.
Something to rememeber when installing any SS.
It is very critical on how tight the bolt that goes through the bottom of the shifter is tightened to. If this gets torqued down by Hercules.......It will make the shifter very notchy and hard.
Also lubing the shifter cup can help out a bit

Thats one thing I love about my adjustable...If I want to lengthen the throws and get it to a more stock feel when I'm not racing I can. But even at the shortest settings it is not anymore notchy then stock. And the effort required for the shortest setting is minimal over stock.

So do you feel you can achieve lower times with this short shifter?

I believe its possible but I have not yet been to the track as the last 1/4 mile track in SD county has been bulldozed for a freaking business park... I plan to go to Irwindale soon though. I'll do some runs in the various modes and see what I get.

as for the Mossy, I emailed, and Greg said that group buy price would be 240 shipped.

argh. such a tough decision.

that price on the RE is INSANE!!! jump on it guys, you wont be dissapointed!! as for the install, its DEFINATLY a DIY! not very hard at all. get a $15 set of jack stands from pep boys, and do it in your driveway in an hour! it comes with very explicit directions (with great pics!)

Ive also heard some guys going back to the stock shifter. They say they can shift faster with the stock one. They had B&M I dont think they had tried the Roque.

So ive narrowed it down to Roque and 350 evo ss
Still waiting to here from zillinois today. Hope they got his job done so he can give us some feedback.

So what do you all think about liking the stock shifter better?
