I just installed my short shifter and now I have a rattle every time I go over a bump- a metal on metal sound.

I figured this could only be from two things-
1) the blue ring from the short shifter and the guide plate or
2) the square ring that holds the boot down and the frame of the car

I tried tightening the guide plate bolts down as much as possible but that didnt do anything for the rattling. I was thinking maybe having some sort of gasket in between the guide plate and the blue piece would help?

Anyone else experience this rattle, and if so, how did you fix it?
