So the new frontier is a V6 4.0L making 265hp, 284tq (not sure exactly, something along those lines).
I was wondering if this engine was a VQ-series engine.
Would swapping the bottom-end with ours be something out of context or realistic (in order to make ours 4.0L)?
I'm sure plenty of money would be involved, just because of the fact that the engines are new.
Just a random thought.

If Nissan follows suit, you could possibly bolt the VQ40 block up to the VQ35 heads like VQ30s are doing now with your VQ35 blocks.
A 0.5L increase in displacement and most likely a 11.5:1 compression ratio isn't worthwhile once these become cheap/plentiful in boneyards?
Plus, with the increased stroke that means a faster piston speed/quicker torque, which would definitely be worthwhile for NA guys not pushing high RPM IMHO.
Quick/easy "bolt-on" OEM put together frankenstein motor.

Seem like it would be really worthwhile for someone want to build an engine with big boost. I'm sure the pistons are lower compression, and the Z heads likely flow better CFM's.
So you could bolt in the bottom end of the VQ40 into the 350Z and have 4.0L of turbo spooling displacement and torque!
