More companies than just garret make turbos. Mits, IHI, KKK and others also manufacture their own turbos. I have no personal expierence with KKK turbos although I know that 911 turbo, the 911 GT2 and, I believe the turbo v-8 in the porsche suv implements KKK turbos. I would also assume that they are a tad bit pricey.

GReddy, HKS, and Blitz also make turbochargers and turbocharger kits.

i thought GReddy and HKS manufactured their own turbochargers. HKS's turbos have the words "HKS" molded into the turbo....oh well...whatever.

its the same with most other products, just about everything you can buy at a store has 2 or 3 manufacturers for the product itself. but you can find up to 10-15 different brands marketign that product. and yes those brand names can easily ask for differnt things in production on thier product.

computer monitors are another good example. there are countless brands out there to choose from, even when you get to higher end monitors you still have like a good 10-15 companies to choose from, iiyama, sony, mitsubishi, viewsonic etc.

the tubes for these monitors however are made by 3 main manufactures, mitsubishi, sony, and samsung
